Unsolved POV settings overrides by alt launcher
-
Hi. I made a buttonbox from my old T16000. Assigned POV buttons doesnt work. I found that the Alt game Launcher for some reason overrides Falcon BMS User.cfg when I launch the game. And changes set g_nPOV1DeviceID 4 to ID 6. Even that my stick doesnt have any POV buttons. When I trying to launch game with unplugged stick, everything works fine.
set g_nNumOfPOVs 2 // SETUP OVERRIDE
set g_nPOV1DeviceID 4 // SETUP OVERRIDE
set g_nPOV1ID 0 // SETUP OVERRIDE
set g_nPOV2DeviceID 5 // SETUP OVERRIDE
set g_nPOV2ID 0 // SETUP OVERRIDEDevice sorting:

Problem is partialy solved with remapping HAT to buttons via joystic gremlin

I agree this could be better. DX supports up to 4 hats per device, but the numbering-scheme defined by BMS key files makes it impossible to ever have more than 2 hats, total (+2 shifted layers) across all devices.
For now, AL only supports two usages of 8-way pov hats:
- 2 hats on primary fllight-stick device
- 1 hat on stick + 1 hat on throttle device
If you have anything more exotic, then vJoy or other remapping software may be necessary.
(AL has difficulty with vJoy and remapping software too – that’s a different bug I’m currently working on a fix for.)

@airtex2019
Ye but for some reason AL always rewrites (Falcon BMS User.cfg) file
thats a problem. I know about 2 HAT restrtriction. But AL dont allow to chose whitch HATS I want to use -
@QuantumDream that is correct, it’s a known limitation of AL
currently it only supports 2 hats, 1 on stick device and 1 on throttle device
if you want to use AL, you can use it to setup all keybd and button bindings … and then select the “launch without overrides” checkbox which will tell AL not to overwrite the cfg files or DeviceSorting file
but you’ll have to modify the pov block(s) in the key file manually… and edit the cfg accordingly.
if you do that, I recommend making a copy of the BMS-Auto.key file … call it say Quantum.key, then select that once within BMS in Setup / Controllers screen
