Solved Multi Player (IPv6)
-
All,
How would you go about establishing a IPv6 connection? I have a 35 digit IP address which will not fit into UI box and “::” yields a 0 when saved. Is IPv6 address really 35 characters or have I looked in the wrong place ( what is my IP).
Thank you,
Vags

what you could also do is to edit the PhoneBKn.ini which can be found at …\Falcon BMS 4.37\User\Config
There you can easy add the IPv6 Adress to be sure you didn’t lose any nummber

@vagabonds65 yeah I guess it can be up to 39 chars.
usually there’s a run of zero’s in the middle, that you can “compress” using the double-colon shorthand
-
@vagabonds65 hmm… looks like the textbox in the crappy old 2d UI framework we use, doesn’t scroll horizontally as you type or move cursor around
I think if you copy/paste in the full 39 digit IP6 addr, it’s all there, it just appears chopped-off visually
-
Well I am unable to copy and paste, by the time I copy and restart bms I lose my paste function. A good thing the v4 is working.
Thank you again Airtex

Airtex,
I was able to copy into IP box but I don’t know if it all was copied. Do you need to open any more ports other than what IVC requires?
Thanks

A more clear explanation as to my intent is to learn how to establish a IPv6 multiplayer session using multiplayer UI interface.
Thank you,

Echo,
Thank you, that worked well. Now I suppose I enter the address between the colons?
Thanks Again,Vags

@vagabonds65 not quite…
::
is just ip6 shorthand for “all zero”I think you’ll want the IPaddress line to look something like
[Contact 2] Description = Host a Game (IPv6) IPaddress = 1234:abcd:1234:abcd:1234:abcd:1234:abcd

Thanks to you both, I think I have it sorted.
