Unsolved Crash to Desktop BMS 4.37.3
-
It is possible to induce a crash to desktop by reproducing the following steps:
- Start a new campaign (tiger spirit) with default settings
- Confirm default priorities
- Halt the timer
- Wait for first missions creation
- Open ATO
- Select show entire ATO
- On ATO window expand one of the packages in OCA (which you are not already a member)
- Select one of the flights and hit join (again that you are not already a member of)
- At this point Frag order should have updated with the squadron you selected but you are not assigned not any flight yet
- Return to ATO and delete that package that you just joined in, and wait for it to be deleted
- Frag order now should state “Planning…”
- Click on Briefing and boom (doesn’t happen for loadout or flightplan)
-
@williang83 please share the crash-log (look in User/Logs folder)

- put always code marks your crash log. (thanks Max/Airtex)
- share the xlog as well with a link. Upload the file somewhere and link here.
- Do you have the crash dump?
-
-
@tiag I cannot locate this xlogs
-
@tiag I’m curious, have you not been able to replicate it?
-
@williang83 your repro steps seem pretty solid (thanks!) so we’re naturally wondering if this is something already fixed in U4.
is this 100% reliable repro in U3?
-
@airtex2019 I can replicate every single time, very deterministic and repeatable.
-
@airtex2019 In other to make it easier to understand see the video i linked below

Ok
I can repro and will be fixed for U4. Ty!
(But, I simply cant understand why one would do these steps. ) -
@tiag haha fair! The point was just to report a something that could be improved to make the software more stable and avoid crashing due to bad usage

This is BMS, almost guaranteed that @tiag found and fixed another 4 issues when fixing this, so win win win win win
Only lose, more U4 “delay”
