Unable to lock with FCR, single occurrence
-
Not an ongoing problem, only happened once. just figured i’d share to see if anyone has had this or can prevent it from happening in the future.
in a TE, 2-ship myself and an AI wingman, engaging some Mig-21s coming out of the northwest.
lock up one, dispatch it with a 120C. splash one.
another one comes in from the northeast, i have my range and elevation set correctly, the radar return appears on screen. not jamming.
slew cursor over target, select TMS up as just done before….nothing. go to test TMS up functionality by TMS up long-hold, wont change scan.
assumed TMS switch broken. (not happy)restarted TE, TMS works fine, works since.
weird.

sometimes I get contacts that never move, and just sit in the same (geographic) location on the FCR. I can never lock these contacts.

In my last play through, I locked up a target in HAD and forgot about it. I switched to AA master mode and noticed that MASK popup on HUD (from my TGP pod still area stabilized somewhere).
While still in AA mode I manually toggled the HAD and TGP pod’s power both off on console. For some reason I couldn’t lock or “bug” any air targets. Luckily I was fencing out. It came to me to just reverse my “actions” in the cockpit and found out that when I briefly went back in to AG master mode and toggled my HAD and TGP pods back on (don’t remember if I changed HAD targets or not) I was only then able to go back into AA master mode and select air targets as usual. Don’t really know what caused issues or what solved things, but it happened.I haven’t tried to recreate the problem. Don’t know if this helps OP in anyway either.

If you are carrying the HTS and switch OFF the pylon power, there seems to be a bug that prevents your TMS UP from working. You cannot bug anything on the radar, and not even switch to ACM boresight TMS UPing.
Actually I don’t know if this has been reported before.Hope the devs are aware for the “next version”

Twiz? Got that. Resetting Twiz by TMS down doesn’t help usually.
