I have it.
I installed it on šŸ˜„ then moved it to usb disk. Opened the registry and changed the drive letter.
I mostly use it for secondary works, like edit TE’sor run WDP or for F4AWACS never for flying.
If u want it for flying better be USB 3.0

@slei:

would you please explain more detail about ā€œOpened the registry and changed the drive letterā€?

If you have already installed BMS:
First beware of any changing in the registry. If you never done it before take care!

Open the registry of your windows: menu > search > type in ā€˜regedit’ (IIRC - I’m on a linux)…
Search the registry for BMS, or C:\Falcon BMS 4.32, or such…
Have a look at each value of each entry, if there is a value like C:\Falcon BMS 4.32, then you can change C:\ into the drive letter of your stick.

If you want to install:
If you were asked for the path, where BMS shall be installed you can take the default path and only changing C:\ into the drive letter of your stick.

Again:
Take care editing the windows registry!

If you are not sure editing the windows registry I think it would be better first to uninstall the existing install of BMS and reinstall it.

As I replied to your PM:

open registry (regedit)

go to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Benchmark Sims\Falcon BMS 4.32

In case u don’t have win7 64 bit search for Benchmark Sims but it should be on:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Benchmark Sims\Falcon BMS 4.32

there u will find

ā€œbaseDirā€=ā€œC:\Falcon BMS 4.32ā€

change it to your usb drive letter, and folder name if u want different folder also.

Ready.

Reboot.

Additionally

this registry part u can export it with right click on the Left pane on the parent record where it says

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Benchmark Sims

so right click on Benchmark Sims and select export. Give it a name and save it.

U might want to do the same with the

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\F4Patch

In case u made changes in the configuration of Falcon.

So right click on F4Patch and select export. Give it a name and save it.

transfer those files to your USB drive.

Now on another pc just plug your USB drive, go to the folder where u have those registry exported files. Right click on one and select merge. It will give u a message click ok. Do the same for the second one. In case the drive letter is different change it. Ready.

Have in mind the difference between 32bit and 64bit.

If u export from 64bit and go to 32bit it will not work as is. U must edit the registry exported file with notepad and make the change. Also the same viceversa like from 32bit to 64bit.

Example of 64bit exported registry key of Benchmark Sims:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE[B]\Wow6432Node\Benchmark Sims\Falcon BMS 4.32]

it does work perfectly fine! i installed bms on my sdxc card and it is really fast enough to play. just bit slower on loading part!

and when i uninstall bms, i just simply delete the folders on usb and registry on system right?

Well the thanx in our community IMO mostly is when a helped member helps another member to retain the continuity of the chain through all those Falcon years. The thanx will be when we that where helped when we will put down our guns to see the continuation flow unchanged and with same passion.

i know some people dont even say thanks and even delete the post after answering the question. i hope this community lasts long!

btw, if someone use ssd and dont have enough space to install bms, you all should try this method which taught by Arty.

my sdxc generally runs by 90 on reading and 60 for writing, but it runs fast enough to compete with ssd! i feel like loading part is faster than ssd lol

Arty, do you know if this method is also valid in BMS 4.33 version?

Thanks in advance for your help!
