How to CLEAR switch or button press Assignments
-
I have finally given up on Target now that I’m on Win10.:whoo:
So RS Mapper seems to be a good way to program some or many of the single pole single throw switches.
I’m trying to keep as much as possible as Direct input. My question is how do I clear a Direct input assignment (example; Toggle Master Arm) When I have used that same Sw in RS mapper to work as a Single Pole Double Throw, Master Arm ON & Master Arm OFF
I can’t see clearly in my Key file if its stored there or else where, I have looked in the DOCs & still non the wiser :frusty:.
Thanks……

If you’re running out of the precious 32 DX buttons realize that you can bind to the 0x42 release event as well as the normal press. E.g. my APU switch is DX9 and master arm. Press is armed and release is safe. I’m using TARGET but it would be the same naked or by some other profiler.
As for deleting, my method is open the .key file in a text editor and delete the line for that joystick bind. Mine would be SimArmMasterArm 40 8 -2 0 0x0 -1 at the end of the .key file and normally has no quoted text following it (although nothing stops some 3rd party editor from doing that if that’s what made the file in the first place).
If unsure paste here all the lines which contain the substring “MasterArm” and we’ll figure out which one is which.

Something like this “SimArmMasterArm 55 8 -2 0 0x0 -1”
I see its the “55” in mine that differentiates it.
There is or was a manual with definitions for all the variables , but haven’t found it again.

Button 56 has ID #55 so that’s button 24 on the second controller. Anyway delete that line and it won’t be bound anymore.
