IVC Sound Device
-
I have a very irritating issue that presents itself every time ivc starts up. Namely it always reverts to my VR set instead of the usual headset/speakers/mic.
Windows 10 has a nice option for selecting sound settings for apps, but ivc is not there on my system. Is there a config or other file that can be adjusted to select default devices for ivc?

You can set default devices in the INI file located where IVC executables are, if that didn’t change in 4.34
Check the BMS manual for more explaination of the INI file.
Everything is explained, and well explained

I’d be interested in the syntax required as I’m not computer language literate. For instance, my ivc client.ini looks like this;
#duplex = 0
#server = XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
#connect = 0
#nickname = Callsign
#port = xxxx
#key-hook = 0
#quick = 0
#word = password
#capture = sound_device
#nofx = 0
#playback = sound_device
#tone =
#loudness = 0
#fuzz = 0
#hum-level = 0
#hiss-level = 0
#toneVol = 0
#uhf = 307300
#vhf = 1234
#uhfVol = 0
#vhfVol = 0
#outsiders = seat
#log = 0
#minimize = 0
#force-local = 0
#selfblock = 0 -
#duplex = 0 #server = XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX #connect = 0 #nickname = Callsign #port = xxxx #key-hook = 0 quick = 1 #word = password #capture = sound_device #nofx = 0 #playback = sound_device #tone = #loudness = 0 #fuzz = 0 #hum-level = 0 #hiss-level = 0 #toneVol = 0 #uhf = 307300 #vhf = 1234 uhfVol = 6 vhfVol = 6 #outsiders = seat #log = 0 #minimize = 0 #force-local = 0 selfblock = 1
quick = 1 will give you a nice channel hopping click when talking on Uniform
uhfVol = 6
vhfVol = 6 will give IVC volume a slight boost over default
selfblock = 1 will give you a really irritating tone when two players are talking at once. Not realistic, but certainly helps in a multiplayer environment where comm discipline might not be great.Everything else isn’t really needed (personal opinion)
