Windows Vista and BMS, wich version is more eligible?
-
Hi Guys,
I don’t have the choice to upgrade to vista 64 from my old XP pro 32 because my video card AGP HD4600 is not recognized with 7 and 8.1, and I can’t install a PCI express video card on my ASRock AM2NF3-VSTA so my question:Q: wich version of Vista is the better way with BMS? Ultimate it is better for games or Home edition?
Thank-you,
Kind Regards.

Given your question as written, regarding BMS, there is no real advantage going with the Ultimate version of Vista. Ultimate is geared more to businesses (logging onto a business/domain server), while the Home series are for standalone systems typically found in homes.

Choosing between flavors of Vista is like a choice between devil and the blue sea …. i would at ANY price avoid installing Vista! I had an old PC installed with Vista. It worked but after installing Windows 7 on the same machine the speed gain was incredible. I wouldn’t touch Vista anymore, not before hell freezes over
What puzzles me is your problem with your graphics adapter because there are drivers for Win7 / Win8 for AMD HD4600 AGP cards on their website …

In fact These drivers exist, but they don’t work for Win 7 and Win 8 with HD4600 AGP, I tried.
No drivers for windows 8.1 -
I know that especially installing drivers for graphic adapters can be a pain in the ass, gone thru it myself a few times. But i would use all energy to sort this driver problem with Windows 7 out. Vista is no option, just my 2 cents

thank you for your answers I will take into account.

Richtho, I don’t know what your personal situation is, but to me, your best bet (at the minimum) would be to upgrade your motherboard, if possible, to one that can handle a more modern video card.
