Radio comms message screen
-
Hey guys, I’ve been having a problem with the radio comms message screen, and hopefully someone can help me this situation.
I’m running the sim 4.34U4 on a 65" 4k hd tv, have DPI at 150. resolution is at 3840x2160.
The radio comms message screen width and height is to small, all I get are 5 command response when there should be at least 9, that is the height problem. On the width, the sentence runs on it self.I’ve spoken with FastFox with this issue and we’ve been trying to find a solution to no avail.
I’ve tried to edit the settings in menu.dat and otwfonts.dat files but that did not resolve the issue. Can someone pleas help me with this problem.
I would greatly appreciate it.Thanks

Try this. I have never had the problem, but fixes a lot of people’s problems. https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?39647-4-3-4-U4-Some-comms-menus-are-quot-written-over-quot&highlight=Comms+window
…or maybe you have… I should read better

Yea, it’s because of the custom DPI setting at 150% - just set the BMS configuration setting shown in the image I linked (in the post linked by Quasi), that should fix it - not trying to be a shill, but if it becomes unbearable with your configuration (using a large TV far away instead of a PC monitor up close), you might consider going the Voice Control route for your radio comms like many of us have already. Not just referring to my AVCS4 Immersive Voice Control Radios for VoiceAttack, but also many other alternative options, too, including JanJan’s recent (awesome) plugin for VoiceAttack which also removes the need to ever use the on-screen radio menus in BMS again.
Best wishes and good luck to you!

Thanks for all the help guys.
I’ve been tweaking whit the menu.dat and the otwfonts.dat file
and finally got the right configuration. For the menu.dat I edited as follows:
Added to the bottom of the resolution section
#resolution 3840 2160 100 3000 850 3830And the otwfonts.dat, at the bottom added:
#resolution 3840 2160
#font 0 1 0 14 Arial
#font 1 1 0 9 Arial
#font 2 0 0 9 Arial
#font 3 1 0 9 Arial
#font 4 1 0 12 AriaNow everything is legible and all commands appear.
Again thanks for all the assistance.
