Question for Weepop/Oakdesign: MFDE/HELIOS DED
-
Hi guys,
I’ve been enjoying my touchscreen/Helios/MFDE setup for a few days now, but there is one thing that I just don’t get:
In rampstart, the MFDE extracted DED just doesn’t light up (even though the DED brightness knob in Helios and in the pit is set to full).
Is there a step I’m missing in the rampstart procedure to make the DED work?
Is there a switch in Weepops profile that I need to press to get the DED working?
Is there something in MFDE that needs to be set to get the DED working?
In non-rampstart missions the DED works just fine.
Thx! -
In order to have to DED on with Ramp start It’s not only the brightness but have you turned the DED switch on the right console?
Other than that be aware the weepop profile or basically most Helios profiles don’t use the “toggle” callbacks for 2 and 3 way switches but the explicit on / off callbacks. Be aware that the on off callbacks might either not even be present in your key file or not boundGesendet von meinem SM-G930F mit Tapatalk

Thx Oakdesign,
I’ll look into this, see if I got it right or not.
I’ll report back

Hi Oakdesign,
Well, tested and found that not only the UFC, but also the GPS switch do not move via Helios.
However, Weepops profile and .key file show what I presume is correct:SimUFCPower 310 0 0XFFFFFFFF 0 0 0 1 “AVIONICS: UFC Switch - Toggle”
SimUFCOn 310 0 0X31 6 0 0 1 “AVIONICS: UFC Switch - ON”
SimUFCOff 310 0 0X31 7 0 0 1 “AVIONICS: UFC Switch - OFF”
SimGPSPower 310 0 0XFFFFFFFF 0 0 0 1 “AVIONICS: GPS Switch - Toggle”
SimGPSOn 310 0 0X32 6 0 0 1 “AVIONICS: GPS Switch - ON”
SimGPSOff 310 0 0X32 7 0 0 1 “AVIONICS: GPS Switch - OFF”But I still have to manually switch them on in pit. As I’m a total nOOb when it comes to Helios profile edititng I wouldn’t know how to fix this.
Thx!

You don’t have to edit the Profile.
If you flip a switch in Helios and no action in BMS I still assume that you haven’t loaded or use the key file that comes with the profile within BMS

Hmm… odd, because I AM using Weepops key file in BMS, which is where I copied/pasted the previous post out off.
But then I also read you need to define BMS as interface and point to the key file in Helios? How would I do that?
Thx! -
I figured it out… all is well now. I’ll post a thread in the touchscreen section, because I think my NooB travels from knowing nothing about Helios/MFDE to a fully working touchscreen pit might be of use for others going down that path AND I still have questions
Thx!
