Missing padlock boxes 4.34
-
I am still running 4.34. I realize that this is not supported anymore. I have checked all settings in configuration and in game settings, but have lost my padlock boxes for some reason. In config., the size is set to 02(default), and they are enabled. Also enabled in game settings (enhanced). Padlock still works, but no box showing. Any ideas that might help?

Sounds like you checked but just to be sure … no g_bNoPadlockBoxes setting in cfg? Or g_nPadlockBoxThickness ?
-
I am checking the config utility in the alternative launcher, and the in game setup. Where do I find the settings you listed?
-
You can just open …\Falcon BMS 4.35\User\Config\falcon bms.cfg in notepad, and hit [ctrl+F] to search for “padlock” to review the settings to be totally certain.

Malc- that is where I am checking the settings and “No Padlock Boxes” is not checked. The size is set at 02, default.
airtex2019- I don’t have that file in either 4.34 or 4.35. My Falcon BMS .cfg is shown as a PDF. WTF!
I just notice that my config utility (As shown by Malc) is marked as 4.35 even when opened in 4.34. I wonder if my install is porked? I have both 4.34 and 4.35 install at the moment. I might try to uninstall 4.35 and see if I get the padlock boxes back. What do you think? -
Search “falcon bms.cfg” file in the “\Falcon BMS 4.34\User\Config” directory for the line
set g_bNoPadlockBoxes 0
and ensure the value is 0
Next, search for the line
set g_nPadlockBoxThickness 1
and ensure the value is NOT zero.
Save the file and try again. If problems persist, your only option now might be a re-install, cos 4.34 is now outside scope for bug fixes.
Hope this helps?
Edit - just re-read your post - if the falcon bms.cfg is missing the sim will start up in a default state, you will recognise this being the case. Although Acrobat Reader (or similar) has been set as default opening program for your .cfg extension the sim will still read it. Right click on the entry, and use Open With… then select Notepad. You’ll be able to edit as required.

That did it Malc, thanks. Both are set as you show. Time for a reinstall it looks like.

Very weird! I uninstalled 4.35 and now I have the padlock box back!:) Once I finish the campaign I’m running in 4.34 I’ll try it again.

It is indeed weird, 4.34 and 4.35 are mutually exclusive of each other.
