Poor man's brake with racing pedals & joy2key
-
Hi folks,
just a heads-up about how to implement a simple (non differential) brake pedal if you’re using your racing pedals (T500 RS in my case) as a “poor man’s rudder” in BMS: Just use Joy2Key (shareware) and map your free brake pedal axis to the “k” key (standard BMS keyboard layout). This way, the depressed brake pedal axis will generate a “k” keypress and send it to BMS. Works quite nicely, naturally not as good as real toebrakes but another axis you can use in BMS that would probably sit unused otherwise.
All the best,
Uwe

Is there a way to do shifted axes? I have racing pedals setup for rudder, which works very nicely, but am now wondering if using the same axis, shifted would be useful for toe brakes

I don’t think you can dx-shift an analog axis, but of course I might be wrong.
Cheers Uwe

Probably Joysick Gremlin.

@rubbra Just saw this. How did you assign the pedals as rudder? I tried to, but it has only one axis for rudder (no left-right). I had to compromise and assign the pedals as toe brakes (2 axis).
