Comm Switch assignment?

I am trying to get my wingman to appear on the HSD when pressing the assign button and there is supposed to be a left comm switch to assign that feature, I can located the rt and lt comm switch buttons in the left side of the cockpit, but the key list settings under audio show four seperate comm switches, one for increase and one for decrease for the right , and two of the same for the left, a total of four switches in the key assign section, and they do not work when I assign them, shouldnt there just be two switches? one rt and one lt comm switch to assign to the HSD feature? am I looking at the right switches?

I think you are getting mixed up by all the different things with the word comm in them. The comm switch left is on your HOTAS. See Dash-1 page 25 item #2. It is not a dial. It is used to get the IDM going in CONT mode among other things. You can also set it up as a keystroke in your keyfile. Read the BMS manual pages 103 to 113 for how to set it up. Page 108 has the simple steps for activating it.

The four directions of the “UHF/VHF/IFF Switch” are often labeled IFF in, IFF out, UHF, and VHF. The “in” and “out” refer to inboard or outboard switch direction. Falcon BMS in its various .key files, community talk, and manuals is very inconsistent with what we call them. The BMS Dash 1 will list the exact callbacks for the four ways of the throttle-mounted hat switch. Opening your chosen .key file in notepad.exe and searching for the callbacks will show exactly the label that .key file uses.

Thank you frederf, that was exactly what I was looking for, I wish krause had identified it as the IFF/ UHF switch in his tutorial instead of calling it the comms switch, I found that confusing, thanks again!
