TriDef 3D Ignition side by side - distorted and flat

I’m using TriDef 3D Ignition for rendering games side-by-side in VR, and SteamLink (currently, since
MoonlightGeForceExperience has malfunctioned again) to send display to smartphone plugged into VR goggles like these:
It’s a simple pipeline with cheap hardware, providing decent quality.
But with BMS 4.37 I’m getting the same flat (no separation or other stereo properties between left and right) and distorted picture as in 4.35:
This happens even if I setg_nVRHMD
in “Falcon BMS 4.37\User\Config\Falcon BMS.cfg” manually to 1 (VR) or 2 (Fake VR).
Using SteamVR literally kills the performance in my rig all by itself. Besides, it required adding branded VR headset emulation on both sides (so it’s that emulation that might kill the performance, not SteamVR itself).
Since F4 BMS 4.37 is now VR-capable, perhaps there is a way for making it render correctly with a side-by-side picture? The manual that comes with it says nothing about this, yet I hope for the best.
