Quest 3 + Virtual Desktop + RJ-45 adapter working (without WiFi)
-
Hi,
I’ve just seen this in Reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/OculusQuest/comments/1784x5h/quest_3_usbc_ethernet_adapter_working_with/
And I confirm that, as of today, it works just as in Pico4. Don’t know how long Meta will keep this working (for quest 2 they removed the feature) but, as said, it works for now:
Stuff used for testing:
RUXELY Adapter USB-C to Gigabit Ethernet => https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B09MQDWP6H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
QIANRENON 240 W 40 Gbps USB4.0 C female to female => https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B0BRCQ2G1B/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Fasgear cable USB-C 3 meters => https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B08FY28Z8F/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1So, in case of having the router faaar away as me or just wanting to charge the headset when playing, this is a nice option
Kind regards

What did you use for your power supply to the Ethernet adapter?
I am discovering a lot of sudden virtual desktop disconnects and I am thinking this could be a power supply issue as it happens as far as I know hen my battery drains and becomes yellow in the quest startup menu.

@albertj I’m using Quest3 powersupply connected directly to the RUXELY Adapter USB-C to Gigabit Ethernet
