Uninstalling and reinstalling Falcon 4 BMS 4.32
-
Evening gents,
Using the 4.32 disc, I uninstalled the 4.32 version, and then reinstalled Falcon 4.0. I went ahead and tried to install, it went through all the steps until I selected a folder and it said that file already existed, do you want to overwrite, I said yes. Then it said access denied. So I then went into my C:/ and found the Falcon 4 BMS 4.32 file, opened and nothing was in there. So I deleted the file. I then went back to trying to reinstall the sim and it still says that access is denied. I then opened up the C;? drive and found the file right back in the drive…(even after I emptied the recycle bin). Can you guys help me? The reason why I had to remove it, is because ever since I put the Korea 80’s theatre in the jet’s skins were jacked up… I even went into my back up files and replaced the Korea Objects folder with the originals. Still no dice…
So now I am at this point, going through withdrawals…LOL

Just tried to use clean public 4.32. It kinda ran, but still can’t get rid of the 4.32 file in the C:/ drive…

Did you use “Programs & Features” to uninstall BMS ?
When you Say reinstall “Falcon 4.0” do you mean “BMS 4.32” ?
Do you have Administrative rights to install software on your computer ? Try running the “Setup.exe” as Administrator. (use the right click context menu, “Run as Administrator”)
???.
PS: What do you mean by “Using the 4.32 disc” . BMS is a down loaded package not a disk.
And when you say 4.32 file do you mean folder ?Have you read this? https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?13273-How-to-install-BMS-4-32-Updates&p=183300&viewfull=1#post183300

- I think I did…use the programs and features or it just asked me if I wanted to uninstall the current version.
- When I booted up the 4.32 disc, I did select uninstall. It went through the motions, and I clicked finish.
- Then I figured there must be stray folder, so I used clean public 4.32
- I have administrator rights.

It also says the destination folder is not empty, doe wish to overwrite, I clicked yes, and it still say access denied…
I also right clicked the set up and looked for run as administrator and it wasn’t found on the list

That Folder ( C:/Falcon BMS 4.32 ) need to be deleted before reinstalling.

Yep…simply renamed it to Falcon and it worked…Have the base and updates all the way up to 6. Went to the download site and got update 7, but when it scanned for updates during set-up, it cited a corrupt file…tried both the torrent file and E-HAF mirror…Thoughts…? I think I had the same problem when I tried awhile ago as well…
