Unsolved Using BOTH TrackIR Z axis AND Throttle slider for FOV
-
Hello again, yet another question regarding after new install…
OS Windows 10
Falcon 4.37.3.1
Falcon Launcher 2.4.1.5Joystick: Logitech X52 Professional
Driver: 8.0.121.0
Software: 8.0.213.0Head tracking: 60Hz Grass Monkey Puck with Opentrack
I just bought the Head Tracker. I understood that normally, I should be able to keep using my FOV slider I had configured with my X52’s throttle slider WITH the head tracker’s Z axis to zoom in a bit by leaning forward… :
However, it doesn’t seem to be the case. If I try, the head tracker seems to work (although it starts off way too zoomed in for some reason), but the slider on the throttle simply won’t be recognized / won’t do anything. The only way to get the slider working again is if I disable the Z output in Opentrack.
Is this a known “issue” or limitation ?
Cheers! Pat

I believe this should work. but not something I’ve tested. I’m away from trackir rig right now, but will take a closer look later.
Edit: seems to work ok for me. even inverted.
Share a screen snip of your Setup / Controllers / Advanced screen?

@airtex2019 Hmmm. Was about to get screenshot of what you asked for and noticed this, even after having first chosen my X52 Controller here:
Field Of View seemed to be defaulted to Keyboard.
Could this problem be related to the other one I reported ?
https://forum.falcon-bms.com/topic/26240/setup-defaulting-to-keyboard-instead-of-hotas-joystick/If I change it to “Slider X52…” in Falcon’s setup (not the AL), then it now seems to work along with my head tracker’s Z enabled, but it absolutely does not take into account the inverted setting from the AL set setting.
I need to forcefully set it to reverse in here:
And of course, as per my other post, that FOV setting from within Falcon’s setup isn’t saved and gets reset everytime I launch Falcon…
It’s almost as if only partial settings from the AL get sent into Falcon once launched! Wtf…

@ravenlost yeah it seems all very likely to be related, but I just don’t know what’s going wrong on your system.
I downloaded OpenTrack and gave this a try … works fine for me. I’m able to use AL to configure all that, it just worked.
It does seem like AL is failing to write the cfg files for BMS … or writing them into the wrong place, or something. But why? That is a mystery.
