DirectX joystick assignments

Hello,
I have this issue with falcon bms. I am using the X45 throttle and a ch fighterstick. I had my keyfile set up properly and everything worked perfectly. The saitek was the first device recognized and the ch was the second.
But now for some reason, no matter which order i plug them in, or in which usb slots, or if I reboot, the CH will be the first device recognized and then there would be the saitek.
This is a problem because of bms way of setting up keyfiles, now everything is screwed because the numbers of the buttons clearly don’t make sense anymore.
Is there anyway to force windows to recognize my X45 first and then the CH?Thanks!

joyid never worked for me - I had some thoughts about how to overcome the joystick identification problem here
Basically a way to track what joysticks were identified in the keyfile, then adjust that keyfile based on the current joystick order … doesn’t restore axis though.
Long term I hope BMS switches to identifying joysticks by their vendor/stick id rather than the old-fashioned and unreliable order. I could contribute code in that area.

Hi b4dshot, i’m using win 8.1 with X55 Rhino and saitek combat rudder . I had the same problem and i used this method .
“http://blogs.msdn.com/b/usbcoreblog/archive/2013/11/08/help-after-installing-windows-8-1-my-usb-device-doesn-t-charge-or-it-disconnects-and-reconnects-frequently.aspx”
Now i always have my prefered joysticks IDs. This method is not so easy, read carefully, and should work. Good luck.
