Stuttering during head movement on using AI Track and OpenTrack After a while
-
Someone should kindly help, after installation of bms and tracking apps, everything works smoothly however after few weeks, it starts to stutter, don’t know whether os because of windows update, however when I reinstall windows and install BMS and apps it works smooth for a while, before becoming slow and stutters. Thanks for anticipatory response

Could it be picking up a light source from behind you?
This happened to me. Light was shining through the slits in the blinds and the tracker was picking up the light slits on the wall behind me.

@Sniper-0 have you tried to use opentrack and phone instead of using the phone Webcam with the opentrack Freepie input which uses the phone Position sensors itself and run at a much higher framerate than the usual 30 fps of a phone Webcam.

@drillerman52 I ensured there was no light behind me sir

@oakdesign please can you show me how to try this?

@Sniper-0
In your open track folder you find the FreePie_IMU apk app that has to be transferred to your Phone and installed on the phone
Once on the phone you can start the app1 set the IP of your PC running opentrack (both must be in same network)
2 default port is 5555 you can leave it as it is, must be the same as in opentrack (see later)
3 check send orientation as this is what opentrack uses for the headtracking
4 chck the debug button and activate the on/off button, move your phone around (rotate, tilt) and check that Orientation data changesin opentrack select Freepie UDP receiver as Input and check settings
port must be the same as in set in the phone app
Start in opentrack, if you start it fist time you should get a Windows popup about creataing a firewall rule, accept this by clicking Yes/Ok
Attach your phone to your headset, depending on how and where you attached your headset you might need to change the axis order in the FreePIE UDP setting (screenshot above)
apply settings in options and mapping like you would do with using the phones webcam.
Even if you select in the phone app fast 50Hz it should run more smooth than with a facetracking app due to the fact tht phone webcams usually only can record at 30 Hz and you have another processing software in between -
@oakdesign Is done. Very smooth indeed. Thank You!
