Hosting long-running campaigns with dedicated-server
-
I read in a couple of older posts (4.32-related) that there were synchronisation issues over time in long-running campaings or very complex TEs when not placing the servers plane into the 3d-world. which would be also the case if you running the falcon.exe in dedicated server mode with ‘g_bServer=1’, right?
does this problem still exist in 4.33?
is there a difference in running dedicated-mode and running in normal-mode without putting the plane into 3d? -
Server mode is not supported in BMS 4.33.
-
so, what about the configuration ‘g_bServer’ mentioned in the BMS 4.33 MANUAL, Page 14-239?
is it outdated? will it be (re)activated in future updates? -
Check out shtaliks “dedicated headless server” DLL. I have high hopes that this might be a game changer with regard to hosting BMS on cheap, GPU-less virtual servers.
Cheers, Uwe

But will still need to be in 3d.
