      Hi,

I recently acquired a FSSB R3 and was wondering if you would advice me to use it as stand alone or with the warthog pcb.

Using it as stand alone would simply leave the possibility to use the standard warthog for other sims. but i’m wondering if there’re some warthog profiles that do not use TARGET available for bms?

Using the pcb warthog allows for using TARGET and if i’m not mistaken even with only the warthog usb cable you still have the FSSB R3 special modes available…am i correct?

What do you think i should do?

      Thanks!

P.S: i have a cougar and a microsoft ffb 2 for other sims as well.

        Hi there,

I also have the FSSB R3 and had to use it as a standalone as I was using with a Cougar throttle and not a Warthog throttle. In the end I realized it was much better not having to deal with cougar/warthog software. I don’t fly a lot of sim, but anything that is recent should make use of DX so no need to program keystrokes for most scenarios.

In the end I guess it is up to you and how you want to set your kit up?

          Hello Jody,

Well yeah, the only thing that bother me is losing the warthog stick but well i guess i’ll buy a new one because honestly putting the warthog pcb gives you both the FSSB special modes and target compatibility… true, it is advised not use DX buttons layers of the FSSB while using the one from target but i think we may have enough buttons don’t you think ? 🙂

Agreed… I use straight DX with no special functions to keep it simple and it works fine for me.
