Window Mode? How?
-
So I’m trying to record game footage via Camtasia, but playing the game with the recorder on only brings back a black screen.
Per the support forms for the software, I should be running the game in windowed mode. Although after combing the forums and youtube, I’m unable to find a way to get BMS to play in windowed mode.Anyone have any input? Would be greatly appreciated!

BMS\user\config\falcon bms.cfg
set g_bUseExternalWindows 1The Launcher>Configuration can do this text edit for you under Hardware category.

Try the manuals
Cf install folder -> Doc -> Falcon BMS Manual -> BMS - Manual, 3.2.5.
BMS\user\config\falcon bms.cfg
set g_bUseExternalWindows 1The Launcher>Configuration can do this text edit for you under Hardware category.
That’s one other way to do it but it also enables external displays, which might hurt performance.

So editing the target, per the manual, works. BUT it’s a tiny window.
I had to use a utility to try and resize the window, but it makes it so your cursor is actually somewhere else versus where you see it on screen (IE if you wanna click a button, your mouse actually has to be like 3 inches away and above it or something).Does anyone have a reliable way to record in game footage?
Thank you all very much for the responses!

If you now have a window, alter the resolution in game on the graphics page to match your actual screen res.

The 2D portion is always 1280x1024. Then in fullscreen it stretches this resolution to your monitor. 3D can be any size you want.
Because Falcon uses two different resolutions for the 2D and 3D parts it can confuse many screen recording programs. Fraps can just capture the whole display but takes a lot of resources.
