VAC Commands Running Even When No PTT
-
Hi All:
I have VAC set to listen when the F8 key is depressed. I mappeds F8 to a button on my throttle. The problem is VAC seems to be listening and executing scripts even when the PTT button is not being depressed. I thought I would ask here before going to VAC. This happened both in Windows 7 Pro and Windows 10 Pro. I sort of waited to report it because I knew I was getting a new PC and thought that glitch might resolve itself, but it’s determined to follow me to the new machine.

Which one…“Voice Activated Command” or “Voice Attack Command”?

One is Voice Attack (no “command”) and the other is VAC (Voice Activated Commands)… which is strange because VAC always behaved itself, it was VA that I had issues with “listening when it’s not supposed to.”

Yeah I am using VAC (Voice Activated Commands). I started digging around in the docs and there is three options for PTT. I can’t remember which one I had it on as I am not at my GamePC at the moment, but I had it set on the third option. The option that I changed to is the 1st option labeled “DEFAULT”. I guess I misunderstood what the options did when I set it up, but now VAC is only running commands while my PTT is depressed. Very nice.
Also, I bought a new PC with Windows 10 Pro this week and speech recognition was garbage. So, I did the Windows 10 speech recognition training that is in the Windows control panel and now it’s working like a dream again.
