Hard to understand voice in IVC
-
Hi folks,
since using BMS and the IVC, I always had a problem understanding what people are saying to me on the radio.
Sometimes, it is because of a special accent, but most of the time it is due to the high amount of noise within the AM radio signal.
I tried tweaking some soundcard EQ settings, but no joy with that.
I am running the IVC on a seperate, light and cheap Logitech headset while the main sound runs over studio speakers.
In Teamspeak alone or on SimpleRadio for DCS, everything is crystal clear.
Can someone provide any help for this problem?
Thank you very much in advance.
Greetings

Few things you can check
- check your in cockpit volume, lower them a bit if needed
- there’s also a AivsIVC volume entry you can use to increase volume to IVC
- check Com1&Com2 volume
Now, you have a specific setting with multichannels, that might also be a potential source of the issue. I don’t have experience with that so I can’t really help with that aspect

Thank you for the help so far.
I tried tweaking the IVC Config file today, but all the changes that I’ve made seemed to have no significant impact on the clarity of the voice.
The manual also wasn’t that helpuf either.
Even tuning down the ATC chatter didn’t really help things out.

IVC Client is a separate program so at the most desperate you can use Windows audio levels to set Falcon BMS to a lesser volume level than IVC Client.

I set bms volume to 25, ivc to 75 in windows audio. Then put comm1 and comm2 knobs in middle positions, and use the scrollwheel downwards on the ai vs ivc vol knob all the way down (to get highest ivc volume, lowest ai volume), and also set the intercom 3 clicks down from the top. Otherwise the annoying AI voices are too loud, and real people with the radio distance effects sound way better than those AIs to people listening.

I tried several approaches now, but to no avail.
I turned down the ingame volume of the engines etc. however, which helped the problem a litte.
I also recognized that it highly depends on the microphone one is using whether I understand him or not.
