So I tested my FPS in instant action. I got a minor drop from 20fps on ground to 17fps in the air.

RE: FPS low
Yea… from the reviews on the Aerosoft variant, the manual is very limited. Funny thing is that a couple of the reviewers referred people to the F4.0 Manual to fully understand how to fly/operate the F-16, which includes the A, AM, and C variants.
I will have to test FPS in instant action tonight… But its going to be hard to pull me away with the release of Elite Dangerous Horizons on X1. lol

RE: FPS low
See what you get in the air now, there is normally a hit on the ground.
While has been a lot of years since I tried an FS F-16, I doubt it will be much help since it doesn’t do any of the avionics.
The Aerosoft F-16 fully simulates the aircraft/avionics from startup to shutdown and have to go by checklist… I think the only thing it doesn’t simulate is AtG Radar Tracking/Locking in FSX. They did program radar tracking and target locking on airborne targets.
I got my F-16 fully powered up and ready to taxi to the active on the ground ops training. But for some reason when I would try to contact Tower to pull the chocks and request taxi, I would get nothing back… My guess is that I wasn’t tuned to the appropriate Comms Frequency.

RE: FPS low
So I deactivated Far rain, Jet heat, and a few others, And Activated Low Res Clouds and reduced particles and the such… I was sitting at moderate 20 FPS parked on an airfield in the first training mission (Ground Ops). Im going to test a little bit more tho. Not sure how much of a drop I would expect in fps during combat. But that’s still a ways out since I have plenty to learn still X.X lol.
I was almost half tempted to pick up the most realistic F-16 you can get for FSX to train myself a bit better, but then that would be a $22 dollar purchase to train myself for Falcon BMS. -
RE: FPS low
No problem, glad we could help. It is a little extra step than other sims.
Nothing can be an extra step vs tweaking FSX to run right on your Sim Rig… now that was hell in a handbasket

RE: FPS low
Welp… serve it up as me being a exhausted idiot last night to graze over it on the first menu you deal with when booting up F4BMS LOL.
Thanks a lot guys ! Now to tweak around with it when I get off of work. At least F4 doesn’t take a bit to boot up… unlike FSX lol

RE: FPS low
Firstly thank you for providing a well drafted post with sufficient info.
I run a HD 7950, similar to yours but with a little less punch.
“Jet Heat Exhaust” is the first item you can do without.
Possibly “Low Resolution for Clouds”
You can try “Per-Vertex Lighting” but in my experience leave it as is.
I don’t use “Reduced Particle System”
In the Falcon Setup Graphics Tab:
Leave the “Trees and Grass” slider at or slightly below default.
Don’t use High levels of Anti-Aliasing Falcon doesn’t need it.
Secondly Your screen shots were at the most demanding altitude & over bustiest area of the map, and with TGP & Mav up I would not expect a lot more then 22FPS in that there.
The latest Driver is not always the best, but I dont run Falcon exclusively this year, so I gave up on the 13.2 a while back.
Try this TE and just sit in the Pit of the second last flight, looking ahead no Displays showing and just the top of the Up front Control buttons showing (Com1 Com2 List ect), At between 8:53:30 and 8:53 look for the lowest FPS, Im at about 27 currently @ 2560x1440 but with Intel i5 @ 4.0 gigHz but otherwize similar rig to yours.
How does one get into the advanced options to turn off such effects as the Jet exhaust heat shimmer and the latter such as you posted… I gotta dive deeper into the settings of F4
I saw the Advanced Tab under the graphics menu… but I didn’t see any of those options to deselect.

RE: Recommended PC for BMS
Well… I cant really say my other sim is suffering… More like having an issue with the heavier models/systems of highly complex airliners. Can handle fighters to single engine GA all day. Ill tweak with the settings some more still. I know my friend is upgrading his GPU and is gonna toss me his old gtx 760 card. I know that will improve my pc highly.

RE: Recommended PC for BMS
Yea, this PC is an Off the shelf stock Asus from Best Buy. Nothing special. Been dabbling with the idea of upgrading my GPU. My FSX is really starting to suffer as well with all the addons installed. Excellent. Guess im at my wall until i upgrade.
Thanks again

RE: Recommended PC for BMS
Been curious in a good combat oriented Flight Sim. I looked at the original F4.0 many years ago. After finding out about BMS, Im highly curious in trying it out again. My Specs are as follows:
AMD A8 Quad-Core Processor 3.2ghz O/C’d to 3.5ghz
AMD Radeon 7470M GPU with 1GB DDR3 VRAM
8GB DDR3 1600 RAM
1TB HDD
21" Screen
I do have a Stick, Throttle and Pedals I use for FSX as well.Would this be good to run F4:BMS at decent settings without an impact and smooth FPS ?
I did look over at the specifications… But not too sure where my Sim Rig would fit into the situation. I definitely know its on the lower side of the spectrum.
But any additional advice would be nice. Thanks All
