    • RE: Possible Cause for FPS loss (At least for me)

Maybe it’s just an AMD thing where they’ve removed the option to force High Performance mode. Anyone else with AMD’s experiencing this?

    • Possible Cause for FPS loss (At least for me)

      Hi All,

For awhile my install was working without issues. Silky smooth, all graphics up, etc. I am on a Mac Pro with Windows 8.1 installed and the workstation graphics cards, the AMD FirePro D300’s. This is/probably an issue with other AMD cards as well. Basically what I found is that recently my cards refuse to run in high performance mode. The clock speeds are 300 mhz when they should be 850+ mhz. Same with memory. When I can get them to run at full speed, the frame rates more than double, but the low activity of the gpu causes them to go back to low performance mode.

I ask that others try MSI Afterburner with its hardware monitoring to see if this is the same for other users, and to post their results below. And if so, maybe the dev’s know a fix to force high performance mode of the cards. I haven’t had an NVIDIA card for years, so I don’t know how their drivers work nowadays.

Anyways, just a thought. Hope we can all get our issues resolved. Thanks!

    • RE: BMS Crash to Desktop as soon as I land

Thanks for the input. It seems the only way I have gotten the game landable is if I enabled F16’s only in the config program. It may not address the actual problem, but it seems to work for me. Not sure if that helps in any way with debugging.

Thanks for that tip. I did try that, tried the registry fix merge, and BMS worked alright for a few flights right after install (before a restart of the computer). Restarted, and the crashes kept happening. I am at a loss.

A quick update. I have uninstalled everything, and started installing the updates one by one. As soon as I install update 3 the crash starts happening. Everything is fine till that point. The crash log when only up to update 3 is installed is:

    • BMS Crash to Desktop as soon as I land

      Hi All,

I’ve been trying to get back into Falcon lately, but on Windows 8.1, I can’t get the program not to crash once my wheels hit the ground. It just goes to desktop. I am running updated drivers, I’ve tried compatibility modes of Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP. I’ve tried playing with all the graphic settings (even turning them all down with no avail). I do have Falcon installed on an external hard drive. I am not sure if that is related. Here is the top of the crash log. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

      Adam
