I have two problems with BMS 4.33 currently that I’m hoping to get help with.
First: I am currently on the original BMS 4.33 (U0), and want to start updating up to 4.33 U3. However, since 4.33, the setup seems to have changed and I can’t point the setup to the Falcon 4.0.exe. I own the original MicroProse CD from 1998 (can post an image of it from my desk if you want, maybe even a photo of the box and original manual). However, my PC doesn’t have a CD drive to insert the CD to install. I am also on a very limited data plan currently (recently moved and using a cellular data dongle until my ADSL line is installed), so can’t do large downloads (but I already have the required BMS U1 - 3 files).
I basically want to know how I can convince the installer I own the game. I’m not totally against getting the GoG or Steam versions, but wondering if I can avoid that.
Oh and, if I get the GoG version, does the money go exclusively to GoG.com or does it also go to Tommo?
Secondly, the videos in campaigns etc are not running. I have tried all the topics on the forum, removing old codecs, installing the ffdshow and/or mega codec packs, nothing is working. Running the 64-bit BMS 4.33 exe on Windows 10 Anniversary update on an AMD card (R9 290, latest Crimson drivers).
Thanks for any help on these issues
