@ratmilk I will risk speaking for the rest of the BMS dev team – this is not a supported installation scenario and not going to spend time analyzing crash dump.
I would expect this to fail. If it ever worked, in the past, I am surprised. But both steam and BMS have changed a lot in the past few years.
Install BMS to its own root-level folder, and enjoy the new Launcher experience.
