Guys;
I’m trying to set up BMS on my LAN, and cant get IVC to work. I have successfully used it to join others externally, but when one computer hosts internally, no joy. Here is some of the data:
-Link can be successful between both computers (2 players can see each other and join/fly missions). Host IP is left blank and other computer comms page set to join internal IP of host computer (192.168.1.x)
Comms Page setup:
IVC checkboxes both checked
Bandwidth- tried several numbers, ranging from 50 to 1024
Dedicated IVC server- tried both leaving it blank and 127.0.0.1
Troubleshooting steps:
-Ensured volume was turned up on headsets and windows sound mixer (Realtek HD Audio)
-looked for conflicting programs- removed a latent Symantec trial program in the registry; removed an HD program my Video card installed, and stopped Skype from running.
-toggled settings for apps to have exclusive use of sound devices
-Tried reversing roles and used the other computer as the host.
-Ensured that when IVC launches, it appears in Windows Sound Mixer panel
So here is a curious thing- I found that when IVC launches, windows task manager shows it launches, then reports it as “not running.” It then restarts, and reports as “not running.” This behavior is the same on the other computer. Any ideas what to try here? Even if it is to throw in the towel? At least my forehead wont be bloody from banging it against the wall anymore….
