RE: Any Cougars for sale? Or forget it and go for the warthog?
PizzatheHut, that is just an awesome name! Just don’t get yourself locked in any cars where you eat yourself to death.:D
Note the two “t’s” in his name. He’s more slimy and slug-like than the yummy pepperoni goodness you’re imagining…

RE: Any Cougars for sale? Or forget it and go for the warthog?
Well, it really is up to you : basically, the choice boils down to whether the Cougar throttle compared to the Warthog’s is worth the 15 years of use of any used Cougar. I personnally went for the Warthog : easy to find/buy, and I pretty much know it is going to last 10 years.
I find the Warthog throttle lacking when it comes to the antenna elevation, which you must map on buttons rather than axis ( for the range knob, it doesnt matter much) if you want it to be hand’s on.
I map my antenna elevation to the throttle friction knob in the middle of the extreme right hand part of the throttle base on my warthog. It works great. Of course its not as ideal as having it available without taking your hands off the throttle. But, I find when I’m moving the antenna around looking for contacts I’m not jacking around with power settings anyway.
I guess it may come down to what your used to. I for one don’t find this situation all that limiting.

RE: Help Installing and getting 4.33 to work
By any chance are any of you guys that are having trouble with the 64bit using nvidia geforce experience? The feature called share that auto records gameplay video is enabled by default. It was crashing or preventing the game from running in 64bit for me in weird ways. I started a thread about it but it didn’t gain any traction. If you do have it installed disable share and see if that helps.

RE: Mud's Profile
Thank you for your profile Mud. It has been very useful. I have a couple of questions. I’ve made a couple of changes to it for what I prefer. However I’m stuck on couple more I’d like to do but cant figure it out. I’d like to put the NWS/AR disco button back where it is on RL viper sidestick. Merely editing the script by swapping them seems to do nothing. Also I have been using the TFR extensively as of late. I’d like the paddle switch to go back to it’s original RL function. I also tried editing the script without success.
@Mud:
Changing:
//Master mode Button: Cycle FOV MapKey(&Joystick, S1, PULSE+DX3); //Pickle Button MapKey(&Joystick, S2, DX2); //Pinky Button: Missile Step / NWS / AA Disconnect MapKey(&Joystick, S3, DX5);
to
//Master mode Button: Cycle FOV MapKey(&Joystick, S1, DX5); //Pickle Button MapKey(&Joystick, S2, DX2); //Pinky Button: Missile Step / NWS / AA Disconnect MapKey(&Joystick, S3, PULSE+DX3);
Should swap the NWS and master mode as far as I know.
I stupidly did this.
//Master mode Button: Cycle FOV MapKey(&Joystick, S3, DX5); //Pickle Button MapKey(&Joystick, S2, DX2); //Pinky Button: Missile Step / NWS / AA Disconnect MapKey(&Joystick, S1, PULSE+DX3);
Instead of this.
//Master mode Button: Cycle FOV MapKey(&Joystick, S1, DX5); //Pickle Button MapKey(&Joystick, S2, DX2); //Pinky Button: Missile Step / NWS / AA Disconnect MapKey(&Joystick, S3, PULSE+DX3);
Notice the S1 and S3 placement? I placed them as if the script cares about the //text, I effectively changed nothing. Your post helped me straighten it out. I also figured out how to give my paddle switch it’s RL function back. With a little trial and error I figured out I had to give it a DX assignment.
Thanks for the help and quick reply Mud.

Nvidia GFE crashing or preventing BMS 4.33 64 bit exe
I had BMS 4.33 installed and running fine with all updates. I recently installed Nvidia Geforce experience to be able to stream games to my Nvidia shield tab. After a few days of messing around with my tab I decided to go back to playing Falcon. This time however BMS would not launch and would close with a windows message stating “a problem occurred causing the program to close”. The 32 bit executable seemed fine but I did not test extensively. I reinstalled BMS with no success. It wasn’t until I uninstalled GFE and restarted my PC did BMS 64 bit launch and play properly again.
It may be a specific feature of GFE such as the video recorder or the game stream, I didn’t test enough to find out. I just wanted my falcon working again.I’m very new to this community so my apologies if this is a known issue. I wanted to post this in case someone else was pulling their hair out like me trying to figure this out. Also I wanted to bring this to someones attention who may have a fix or workaround other than just not installing GFE. I understand not to many people here may use GFE, but like I said maybe this might be useful for someone trying to nail down a problem with their installation.
Edit: Seems its isolated to the Share video recording/instant replay feature of GFE. It is enabled by default. Disable Share, at least while playing BMS, and all seems to be well.

RE: Free Thustmaster Rudder Pedals with purchase of Warthog at Newegg
Hello all,
I went for this deal as well. Now I’m putting it to good use by getting back into dcs a10c and hopefully figuring out falcon bms as well.
Once I figure out this sim which I’m sure will take many hours I’d be interested in joining a squad if anybody will have me.
