Lightning's MFDE and 4.33
-
Yes standalone - its not greyed out if no instrument is checked at the options menu, but as soon as I check any instrument for extraction start/stop is greyed out immediately.
Did clean my registry from any remaining 4.32 entrys. No positive result.
Stop should not be greyed out. It is not in mine when I select an instrument. The only thing I can think of……is your MFDE download was corrupt. Try cleaning all MFDE from registry and re-downloading and re-installing. That is all I can think of.
-
I also did re-download the installer - no success. I guess it has something to do with some missing net framework components . Can you check which versions are installed on your machine ?
In my case:
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2
Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x86) -12.0.30501 -
I have same Net Framework and 21 versions of C+++ (x86) and (x64) from 2005 all the way up to the latest version you have.
Lightning’s older requirements:
1.) Windows Installer v4.5 (if running on XP or Vista)
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=84832.) DirectX Web Updater (don’t bother installing the stupid Bing Bar but install all optional DirectX components if prompted to)

Out of curiosity I did then install all MFDE versions released in the past.
The last one working for me is v.0570x86….Unfortunately this release does not work with 4.33. Guess I have to wait 3-4 weeks for a newer version.Anyway - thanks a lot for your patience and help. Cheers!

Holy shit !!! I got it running (after 2 days)
Here is what I did:
Installed v.0.5.7.0 (latest working version for 4.32 for me) then just manually deleted the MFD Extractor program folder at “C:\Program Files (x86)\Falcon MFD Extractor” and installed the latest MFDE v.0.6.0.1.0
VOILA! Working MFDs again…
:bdance:

Awesome! Wonder what it was that was blocking it? Don’t touch it though, now its working.
-
I can confirm Dolphin’s exact solution. I first just installed latest MFDE version. Did not work (all settings lost in every menu, start+stop greyed out). I uninstalled, then installed latest working version (0.5.7 for me too). Removed the program folder, and then ran installer of newest version.
It then worked immediately! And it had kept ALL my settings, including the position of all instruments on the screen!

Ringofire over at viperpits.org mentioned something about inconsistencies in different type of MFDE installers and manual deeinstallation - that finally did the trick.

thx dolphin that fixed me up as well

Same to me, i think that is something with the new bms version and Displaylink that make that mfde and other extract mfd software no work on fullscreen.
Launch mfde on bms windowed mode must work to you…. but with a lost of fps
-
I run mine as administrator, that worked for me.
-
No problems here on Win7, though im a first time user on this OS.
Did you guys Uninstall first and then delete left over folders and data……Install path & User/AppData/Local/MFDExxxxxx
Just a thought.

Yes, I did all oft that, including cleaning the registry of any MFDE entries…still no luck. It worked just once but after a reboot it was broken again.

Not sure if it is related to 4.33 (I have not noticed it before in 4.32); but I run 4.33 with the latest MFDE version. Yesterday we had a MP flight. At rampstart; fuel totalizer at 7900. Fuel gauge in the cockpit as it should be; but the MFDE extracted gauge on my second screen showed a red label, as would occur in case of an fuel imbalance. Is this a known issue?
-
Were you flying a single- or two-seater F-16?
What was your Fuel Quantity Indicator set to in MFDE?
