Shoddy Graphics - what am I missing?
-
All,
Currently, I have no internet connection at home, as a result of Sky being useless morons. As a result, I found my old Falcon 4 disk, downloaded 4.3.3 at work, stuck it on a USB key and installed it on my PC at home. All well and good, but the graphics in game are… awful. Having looked at some of the screenshots in this forum, F4 should look pretty damn good, but… Well, it doesn’t.
Is it the case that if I’d had a connection when I installed, hi-res tiles would’ve been downloaded by the BMS installer, or am I missing something else?
Cheers,
Ash -
Do you have screenshots to show the problem? Please post also you system specs (incl videocard, monitor settings) and your BMS setup (screenshots of the in-game graphics settings, as well as the settings in the BMS-configurator (accessed from the launch menu).

I don’t have screenshots to show the problem, but imagine a 1680*1050 version of the normal graphics. I’ve an R7, the monitors are fairly old but they render perfectly well.
As for settings: In game, I’ve set the resolution to 1680*1050 and whacked all the sliders up that I can. The multisampling options are ticked and Quality set to 7. All the advanced options are on, and there’s no card-enforced processing in play.
The BMS configurator has the hi-res option ticked, everything else is out-of-the-box.

What are your system specs? Grafics card? And a screenshot would really help.

AshNo its not the case.
Screen shots of your problem and system specs would help.
The graphics should look like the screenshots you see here. Except for the ones that have been post processed. -
@ Ashilta,
I noticed that you “ticked” everything to max. Is your GFX card also at max AA and AF?
-
There is no hardware AA or AF enabled.
