Setting Head Position without using Trackir or POV hat
-
I am trying to use Oculus Rift, or other kind of virtual reality glasses. So, is there any way to set the pilot’s head orientation without using keyboard callback, POV hat, or TrackIR; either through a dll or other method?
Thanks,

opentrack has support for DK1, DK2 and some legacy versions since few releases ago. See sig for link.

So, on a side note. If i wanted to develop my own tracking source by using IMUs and others. Do you know how i could input the data to the game (BMS 4.33 or .32)??
Thanks

You can either of these:
- add a tracking source to opentrack and use it
- send data over UDP to opentrack
- remove opentrack’s UI and replace it with others
- grab just the protocol you need, like opentrack’s freetrack, open it and push data to it
For IMUs we already have a tracker, but please write some quality firmware. The current Arduino firmware people are using is total krap.

Thanks again for the quick reply. This helps quite a bit.

So, this might be a noobie question. But, how do I use opentrack’s output in BMS to move the camera?

Select the freetrack protocol. It should be there by default.
In BMS controls options “enable trackir vector” “enable trackir” and you’re set. Make to use virtual cockpit - press 3 on keyboard.

Thanks a lot!! I finally got it to work.
