I have been using Admin rights to open the .exe
Any assist would be appreciated.Found that if I disconnect multiple USB devices, 4.33 starts up fine. I have a pit with 7 BUO836X, 2 F16 MFD, Saitek Rudders, TM Cougar, 5 LCDS via USB Display adapters.

Moose, have a look at this thread: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?24018-Have-to-unplug-DirectX-devices-to-get-BMS-to-run-feedback-requested&p=344607&viewfull=1#post344607
With your complex setup you might well be suffering from the same issue, a fix for which should be in the next update we expect.

I just want to share my yesterday experience with you all, in case anyone else has this too.
Windows 10 x64 here, 4.33 runs ok both x32/x64, full of gadgets etc - no need to mentioned them as they were not part of the problem.
Until yesterday bms was working great. Suddenly it refused to launch with CTD each time upon startup, in both x32/x64 exe’s. Tried everything except re-dance, disconnected all devices, played/removed shades, nothing.
Then a “roll-back focus” came in mind, what actions I’ve did earlier to find something interesting between last successful flight and the latest attempt giving the CTD’s.
The only thing I’ve done was to hear some music, connecting my iPhone’s headset. The headset has embedded mic also, and I remembered that when I plugged them in, Windows 10 popup’d a small window (new for this OS, not there in previous OS’s) asking to state what kind of device it is, if they are only headphone, if they have a mic too, if skype etc can access it etc. I selected headset with mic and start listening music, all good. Then I’ve unplugged them and go fly, immediately producing the CTD’s.
Well it seems that after I removed them the Windows 10 system was not “able;” to apply back the “default” audio settings. Each bms CTD was produced because (my speculation, don’t know what falcon reads at startup) the audio HW was either “not present” / altered / or most possible, dll’s and/or drivers were used by another process, causing the CTD.
So, I’ve opened up audio/playback/recording devices properties and reset all devices to default settings… That did the trick, now bms was able to allocate the appropriate audio resources and start working back ok…
Hope might help anyone out there too…

Thanks Darkman. It sure sounds like the same issue with me, although 4.32 continues to run fine.

While the issue was addressed already. What happened to function information, did you delete the .pdb file from the executable’s directory?

Are you able to connect multiplayer in 64 bit with win 10 ?

From the sounds of it, looks like its an existing 4.33 issue that will be dealt with in a future update. I have quite a few USB peripherals setup for my pit… although 4.32 is operating just fine. Thanks !

Cant try W10 yet as my projection screen blending software (Nthusim) has yet to come up with a W10 update. I will try it once it does become available.

Hey guys,
Newbe here. I know there are no stupid questions, just stupid answeres so I ask - what is all about this 64bit issue?
As I understand all of us can launch the game in 32bit system. What is the adventage of 64bits? Does it perform better, if so how many fps is the difference, or maybe the game starts faster?
All in all I am personally very gratefull to BMS team for all efforts they put in Falcon project which gives me a lot of fun (even in 32 bits) -
64-bit executables can address more than 3-4 gigs of memory at a time. Extremely detailed textures can use more than that. Note that 4.33 has higher-quality textures in the base package.
Don’t believe people with wild claims that a 64-bit executable performs faster by itself. It’s not really true unless in very specialized circumstances[1].
[1] Higher register count, implied up to SSE3, extended instruction set. BUT modern CPUs and compilers are extremely good at executing code targetting older architectures.

Hi guys,
Just installed BMS for the first time and cannot get it to launch
Windows 10, 64 bit. Tried running as admin, disabling Bluetooth but to no avail- I get a portion of a black screen and then a message that says BMS has stopped working
Looking in the log folder however, I see an ErrorsinSFX.txt file that says the following:LoadSFX() didn’t load 264:C:\Falcon BMS 4.33\Data\Sounds\engines/fighter/a-10/Ext.ogg
LoadSFX() didn’t load 277:C:\Falcon BMS 4.33\Data\Sounds\sndAero1.ogg
LoadSFX() didn’t load 330:C:\Falcon BMS 4.33\Data\Sounds\engines\fighter\SndAbInt2.ogg
LoadSFX() didn’t load C:\Falcon BMS 4.33\Data\Sounds\F-18\flare.oggThat first line looks a bit strange as well, the path is invalid
Could it be my install is incomplete?
Thanks for any help you can provideUpdate: I got it to work in 32 bit (although I cant seem to use my Thrustmaster T.Flight. 32 bit runs as admin and win xp compatibility (64 bit exe cannot be set to win xp apparently)

Hey everyone, new here.
I could run 32-bit fine but not 64-bit.
I got the D3DDevice error in my crash report. I use a TV as a pc-monitor, the workaround for me was to enable “Cockpit displays to external windows” under Hardware and then External Displays in the config. Now the 64-bit works fineHope that helps someone.
Thanks!

Also any Force feedback sticks or devices users just locate the force feedback dll file and rename it. Worked for me.

It’s weird, because i have also an Intel and Nvidia GPU, but in a desktop… Works normal, even with 64bit. Also I don’t know why then it shouldn’t work with a laptop.
ZaidAlkalaldeh, have you tried to run BMS with one selected GPU, so right click on BMS and select the Nvidia GPU?
