Do you have a soundcard in that system?
If not, either install a virtual one, or remove the particlesys.ini file as described in the first post. -
Hi scorpion … has already been removed the particlesys file but still the Simulator crash …
-
You need a virtual soundcard regardless of particlesys.ini existence.
–
I’ve updated the first post with the 20151125 version. Please report any new issues. This one ignores any and all anisotropic filtering requests.

Reading comprehension. Install a virtual sound card.
-
I could run the sim without sound card, by removing the particlesys.ini. The sound card only avoids the CTD when I try to exit the 3D world.
I have no problems and smooth fps (+/- 60 with 30-35% cpu usage) but I’ll try the -25 version this week.
-
The 20151125 gives the same performance for me.
I did notice to gain another 20-30 fps by going to Satellite Camera view.
Running at 80-90fps with 35% CPU -
Nice! Is that the “0” key view?
Cheers, Uwe
-
Cool! What’s the default keybinding? I don’t play Falcon. Please share it so I can update the first post.
-
Falcon is not a game, its not to be played
PS: Sat view is the “`” key.
-
Thanks. I’ve updated the first post.
A game. A nerdy game one can’t talk about to passing friends or ever meet anyone playing it. /rant

Sadly after removing dx9display.dsp “setup” still crashes.
Any other ideas what could be causing this? I guess most of the options available using the “setup” menu would also be configurable in Falcon BMS.cfg, right?
Cheers, Uwe
EDIT: “Setup” now works after forcing rdp to connect using a 32bit desktop.I’ve assigned 2 VCPUs to the instance, would 4 help a lot with performance?
Hi Hoover. We have the same problem with the setup menu. Bms crashes every time we click on it.
Can you explain bettet us how do you solved the setup problem? We use team viewer for accessing the server.
P.S.:
We solved the bad view by setting a 1024x768 display resolution. -

I access the server using the Linux rdp client from the command line. You can force 32bit colour depth using the parameter
-a 32
Which windows version are you using? Is there a special reason for using teamviewer instead of RDP?
Uwe

Thankyou for the answer Hoover, my mistake, we don’t use team viewer, we use VNC. Can you suggest us a better way to access the server?? Windows version is Windows server 2008 r2 standard.
-
Hm, vnc should be fine too I guess. I don’t think your problems are related to the way you access the server. Maybe you can try a vanilla “remote desktop” connection? I guess win 2008 server should support that out of the box. Are you running a 64bit os and the 64bit fbms binary?
Cheers, Uwe

I’ve not tried Vanilla Remote Desktop yet, because i’m not very able in this stuffs. VNC runs in 32 bit but when i try to get in the “Setup” screen (into BMS UI) BMS crashes…
Yes, 64 bit OS and BMS too. -
Hi sthalik,
great job! I implemented the dll files in my docker setup and it works fine.
Could you please check if it is possible to print a text like “Falcon BMS is in dedicate server mode - Press ESC & E to return” when the screen has turned black? Would help non experienced Users when they are using your dll’s.
regards

Here there’s our vServer specs. Maybe it can help understanding the problem.
Server House: ElasticHost
vCPU: 3500 core Mhz (Assigned At boot base on core-mhz, but we can setup one/two etc… active cores)
vRAM: 4 GB
vHDD: 100 GB
P.S.: please, i’m total noob with servers… so i ask you to speak in the “easiest” way you can do so that i can understand! XD Thank you
