Low alt camera
-
Hi,
can you please give an advice on how to use it?
TIA
Earlybite -
did you mean the low alt radar?
-
No, the low alt camera for a recon mission in Tiger Spirit.
I´ve no idea how to use it! Also jusrt started a small TE with it on board, but still no idea what happens with this Low Alt Camera. -
Select under A-G - when found go to your SMS page and select. You should see a small circle in your HUD when you have set master arm to arm. You then need too fly over your assigned target to recon. When the circle is over the target, press the pickle button and you should hear some “clicks”. These images can not be found anywhere, so just get the feedback from your debriefing.
You probably need to fly very fast over your target, so make sure that your plan is reviewed to get in and out using the terrain to mask yourself. Good luck

Hi,
is it something like “gasp”, or this FBMS pilot breath? If so, then it works!
Thanks, now I can fly my mission.
Thank you very much sir,

Here two pics of my patrol mission with recon:
I must confess, I do not really know, if that mission makes sense…

But Mr. President himself want’s those pictures ASAP.
From original Microprose F4 Manual.pdf
Aircraft Mission Roles:
Chapter 11-33Type:
ReconPurpose:
Reconnaissance. Mission designed to photograph a target site for intelligence purposes. To Achieve Success:
Photograph the target from within 2 miles slant range.RECONNAISSANCE POD:
Chapter 11-34The TARS (Tactical Aerial Reconnaissance
Pod) is used for both recon and BDA
(Battle Damage Assessment) missions.
TARS does not provide any feedback to
the pilot on the picture quality until after
landing. You just have to fly the mission
and take your chances.
For recon missions, you must fly over the
target with the TARS pod and place the
target under the 8° pipper in the HUD.
When the target is in the pipper, press the
pickle button to take the picture. For a BDA
mission, the pilot must reach the target
after the bombs fall to take a picture of the
damage. Since the TARS has a digital
camera that is always running when the
plane is off the ground, it is important to
mark the film or else you will not get credit for a successful mission.
Call up the TARS pod in the same way as other air-to-ground modes. Bring up an air-to-ground
weapons MFD page by pressing [ or ]. Then press B until you see ÒRPODÓ at the top of
the MFD. When the 8° pipper (the big circle 8° beneath the gun cross) appears in the HUD, you
are ready to take pictures. The pipper is situated beneath the gun cross so you donÕt have to point
your nose at the target in order to take a picture of it. When you press the pickle button (z),
the TARS takes a picture of whatever is inside the pipper. You need to be within 2 miles of the
target for a good shot.Note: this is just an copy/paste with outdated keystrokes.
I’m not sure if “2 miles” parameters are still valid with 4.33.Cheers,

Browse the other missions in the ATO and you’ll find many of them won’t “make sense” either! It would appear you are reaping what you are sowing in terms of the campaign strategy settings you are currently using. Recommend you browse the docs, forum, internet, youtube, etc. for “campaign strategy”, “setting the PAKs”, “setting the priority sliders”, etc. Also browse for “editing or retasking existing missions, packages, flights, etc”.
