Throttle?
-
I’ll be ordering the FSSB3 F-16 stick from RealSimulator when that becomes available. But as a purist, what to do about the throttle?
Obviously a Cougar throttle would be the natural fit, but I understand they have some pretty poor components in them. Is it even possible to get a Cougar throttle to a high state anymore? Hall sensors, new pots and mini-sticks etc. Sure I could buy a used Cougar HOTAS and a TUSBA, but will it last long? I can’t find anywhere that sells the hall sensors or replacement parts anywhere. Cubpilot and flyfoxy stuff all seems to be no more.
Anyone selling a modded Cougar throttle or just the throttle itself?

my Cougar throttle is in my pit since 2004. Was used on a desk before that and it’s still going strong.
yes it has a Hall sensor since 2004 - they are not bad, they just need care
POT and RNG pots were never replaced
Microstick was replaced indeed and may drift, that part is a problem I reckon. Unfortunately the other solutions are not better and present the same kind of problem
IMHO, there’s no valid solution for the public, short of installing a real transducer in there. So I buried microstick use a decade ago and use the shifted layer of the radioswitch. Been working very fine since the mid 2000.
Hall sensors are not so hard to find, even nowadays
