3 POH Campaigns to mess with!!!
-
So with the latest release of Nuno Santos’s Operation Exclave, there are now 3 campaigns for POH.
I’ve taken all 3 and added them into POH so you don’t have to search for the 3 and fumble around to get it all sorted. There was some renaming of the Save.* files to make it happen.
Some work had to be done on all 3 campaign files to make them stable due to the exit CTD, due to excessive ground links. Some renaming of countries, fixing the Theater.irc file and the associated artwork for each campaign.
Otherwise they are pretty much what they were when released one by one, now they’re all combined for easy insertion into your Add-On Iberia theater.
The 3 Campaigns and the authors:
Defend Madrid - Duke748 - Top Campaign(Save2)
Thread: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?32737-Unofficial-campaigns-for-POH-0-8-0
Operation Exclave - Nuno Santos - Middle Campaign(Save0)
Thread: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?34272-OPERATION-EXCLAVE-Unofficial-Campaign
BullPush Operation - vialia22/dssss/clawroy - Bottom Campaign(Save1)
This campaign requires some additional work as somehow the authors got the objective names jumbled. I went in and fixed the Airbase names and 2000 of the 5800+ objective names. Once I finish that I will update and post a link to the corrected file.
The file download includes an Iberia folder.
Inside you will find an Art, Campaign and Movies folder.(There is an issue with the movie files bitrate, Obi1 has taken care of that and either he or I will post a link to the working movie files soon. So it’s up to you if you want them or not. Thread: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?33640-Campaign-movies-not-playing)
All you need to do is copy all three folders inside the Iberia folder, and drop them on or into your Add-On Iberia folder and overwrite the existing files.(I know some(one) may have issues with this procedure :nosep:, if so, just post up your problem and we’ll get you straight!!!)
MediaFire Download: http://www.mediafire.com/file/4avx04ana3q4n3h/Iberia_3Campaigns.rar/file
Weather Maps, goes in the campaign folder: http://www.mediafire.com/file/mxst5s5s4fs7vbi/WeatherMapsUpdates.rar/file
The most elaborate of the 3 campaigns by far is Nuno Santos!! Though I’m skeptical about the outcome!! LOL
I have not ran these campaigns at all enough to see if they finish with/without a win/loss or stalemate, or timeout. I did nothing with the trigger files, all that stuff is from the original authors of each campaign.
Now I’m back to the Baltic Theater to finish up and release some stuff sometime this week!!
Have fun and Good Luck!!

Could you elaborate a bit more on the “CTD due to excessive ground links”?

Issue: An overflow CTD caused by excessive ground links in 28 objectives. The campaign files only have 100 data cells for the objectives, if you exceed that, it causes the CTD.
Start reading at my post #159. If you go to page 18 of that thread, my post# 175, there’s an explanation and pictures of what was causing the CTD.

Hi, I uploaded the re- encoded movie files for anyone that has problems with the original files not playing.
Ofcourse this is only working if you normally can play movie files in BMS.

Quick question from someone a bit new to this.
Do i need to download the three campaigns individually or does the last link ‘Mediafire Download’ contain everything I need for the three campaigns to work?
Thanks for your effort on making this work Cloud 9!

Everything is included in the download!!! That’s the reason for the screenshot showing them all on the Campaign Selection UI!!
You’re welcome.

Champion thank you!!

Everything seems to be working but my Campaign selection menu looks different to the screenshot you’ve posted:
Will this be a problem?

Somehow you don’t have the art files installed correctly. There are two Art folders, one inside the other. These art files belong in the second art folder.

Your Add-On Iberia file structure should look like this:

Thanks again for your help! I was convinced I had installed correctly but after triple checking I found an error in how I copied the folders.

Great, so now your Campaign select screen looks like mine??

Hey again Cloud 9! More questions for you please.
If I use MC to add a new squadron to one of the campaigns is there any chance that I will break anything? I want to fly USAF F-16 blk52s out of various different bases just to mix things up a bit. I have done it successfully before in Israel and Balkans
I also noticed that when you are joined to a NATO squadron you cannot see Portuguese or Spanish air assets in the 2d Map view. Vice versa if you select Spain or Portugal you won’t see 2d aircraft from the allied factions. Is this a bug?
I was planning packages for the NATO squadrons out of Lajes but its a bit annoying not being able to see them when joined to a squadron from Spain or Portugal.
Any ideas?

No, that’s not a bug. It’s a limitation of the code when teams are not connected to the Primary country, Spain(Team2) in this case, you will only see your aircraft. And the enemy when he comes to kill you!!
You can add stuff if you like to fly the campaign the way you like. No problems.
In MC you can add those friendly countries to Spain(Team 2) then you would see them. If you only add Spain, then you still won’t see Portuguese aircraft. You can add them all to Team 2 if you like.
There’s different reason that teams are or aren’t connected, it’s a decision that the campaign builder decides to make for whatever reason, but/or some who build campaigns don’t fully understand how that works and affects the game?!??!

I think that’s a POH art issue. I’ll check it out and see what I can do.
Yes, it’s an art issue with 128 segment theaters that causes a CTD. Looking into it!!

Portugal is meant to join the war only when moroccan forces take control of Algeciras city, which will happen more or less between 0100 - 0200 hours. By that time, portuguese team turns blue.
NATO forces stationed in Lajes will only join the war (including the CVN-70) IF Algeria joins moroccan forces, which may happen around day 3 or so.
At least, that’s what I’ve planned for the balance of forces on the first days of war.
