Got it working using the link on post #40.
Great addition to the simulator! TY Dee-Jay

I’ve got an update ready for the next BMS version and so has Dee-Jay, so the transition will be smooth and painless

So…it must be ( 4.33 ) just around the corner[emoji3]

Updated VAC Profiles for 4.33 are already in your 4.33 install. You’ll find them in \Falcon BMS 4.33\Docs\Key Files & Input\Voice Activated Commands.
Enjoy!

Hi, I’m keen to use\try VAC but, being pretty thick, I’m finding it very difficult to understand how to get it working.
I have VAC installed and I have loaded Darkman’s profile.
I use a Cougar HOTAS with TUSBA and within BMS I have mapped UHF up to the Home button as per the BMS keyfile.
I have Microsoft Voice trained and running.
The following screenshot is of my VAC settings - I don’t really understand these as they are not straightforward to me.
I believe my issue is with key assignment within VAC for PTT and probably within BMS too.
Appreciate if someone could explain what I need to do to get this working please?

Would still like to know how to get VAC working, however, I have found Voice Attack to be simple enough to operate using Crazy Canuck’s profile.

+1 for Voice Attack.

I use F8 to Arm VAC as F8 is not used by anything in the 4.33 Full/Dunc_DX keyfile. The advantage of Arm is that you only have to press it to Arm VAC and then you can release it; you don’t have to hold the key down while you speak. Other than that it looks like you should be good to go.

Many thanks for your response Darkman, really appreciate it. So, if I re-map my UHF Up to be F8 in 4.33 and assign F8 in VAC as per your screenshots I should be good to go?
I’ve been using Voice Attack the past couple of days and find it very easy to use along with Crazy Canuck’s profile of which I’ve had to adjust in a couple of places but really simple and intuitive. With your advice I now have two solid options so i’ll see which performs\runs the best.
Many thanks
Dave

They’ll probably work the same, as most voice activated software uses built-in Windows Speech Recognition nowadays.
I’m not sure about the TUSBA, as I used Foxy to map F8 to my shifted layer radio button on the TQS, but F8 with the default Full (or Dunc’s) keyfile and F8 in VAC set to Arm (instead of default) should do the job just fine.

It works ,but I still can see/hear the command is repeated in game which I said by VAC ,
for example ,I said “Tower request taxi” ,it should just hear tower’s response to grant my request ,
but it will present the exact radio command echo to what I said by VAC AT 1ST and then tower’s response to grant to taxi ,
is it normal?
or how could I mask the “in game radio command” which I issued by VAC ?Thanks in advanced.

BMS Manual (in your \Falcon BMS 4.33\Docs\Falcon BMS Manuals folder) page 29: SOUND page
Player Voice
If activated (default) you will hear the pilot’s voice when selecting an option in the comms menu while in 3D. It can be deactivated if you prefer (when using Voice Activated Commands for instance). -
As Darkman says or more directly

Really appreciated Darkman and ddoc

Is there a way to keep the AI and AWACS radio chatter from causing VAC commands? Sometimes when I have VAC active AI comes on the radio and my view changes. It can be pretty annoying. Also, I am using a single mode with SST X52 and DX shifted. I can’t seem to map the VAC arm to a button without it ruining the buttons shifted command. Anyone know about this or how to fix it?
-
It looks like I am not going to buy VAC after the trial period is up. I turn it off and can’t map it to a HOTAS button anyway. I don’t see a point in paying for it if I have to have a keyboard button to turn it on and off. If I leave it on the AI and AWACS initiates VAC commands, especially changes views. If I could map it to a HOTAS button I would reconsider. Maybe I can leave it on and delete only the VAC commands that I really need, then use wording that the AI or AWACS don’t use.
-
No idea about Saitek but it works fine mapping it to a HOTAS button with the Cougar. See my post above:https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?8323-DeeJay-s-Voice-Activaded-Commands-(VAC)-Profiles&p=112029&viewfull=1#post112029

Did you map it to a DX button or to a HOTAS software button? I already have my COMMs HAT to control COMMs unshifted and to cycle radar submodes shifted, all through DX. I tried to map VAC to the same button as UHF so it would do UHF and VAC but when I map VAC through SST to the UHF HAT it breaks the UHF callback as well as all the other ones on the HAT. I have read that you cannot map VAC with DX. So, it looks like I am forced to either use an unshifted button for VAC which will then ruin the ability to use that button shifted for something else or use the keyboard and adjust the commands so the AI and AWACS don’t initiate commands.
I am not using SST software shifting. I am using DX shifting. So how do I assign VAC to a shifted button when it doesn’t see DX commands?

Looks like the links to download are down again and the one included in the game directory when converted to vap give me an error upon import. Anyone have a fix or a copy of darkmans profile to share or repost? Do these work for voice attack or only the other program as that may be my problem? Thanks.

Never mind i just altered one that was on line to my liking. Thanks anyway though.
