Weepops Helios profile
-
Yes, load it on the Profile Editor… not sure why it’ll stop working though. Maybe another corrupted download? Once the Profile Editor is working, on the upper-left, click on Profile and then click on Reset Monitors. This “resets” the profile to detect your monitor setup and work for you. For instance, my profile will work with someone with two monitors. Whether that monitor is two 1920x1080 res, or maybe one is 2560x1440 res and the other is 1920x1080 res, or maybe one is 2560x1808 and the other is a 1920x1200 res. However, on each example, the user will have to “reset monitor” so that the profile will detect and set itself up to that specific monitor configuration. Indeed, in my case, it is one 5896x1080 res and another at 1920x1080 res.
Hope that makes sense!
OK uninstalled and removed everything. Re downloaded everything. Still Helios profile editor shuts down as soon as i try and open any profile. (But not if I create and save a new profile with nothing in it)
? The “Images” folder which is pasted into (in my case) C:/Users/Name/My Documents/Helios/Images is the folder(s) labeled “-Ice’s Falcon BMS ver.2” or “Weepop-Ice” or for Rogue just to check “Viper” ….Correct???profiles in same place C:/Users/Name/My Documents/Helios/Profiles also “-Ices BMS 4.33 ver.1.2.hpf” or “Weepop-Ice.hpf” and Rogues 2… Correct??
keyfiles in BMS User Config folder? I assume these are necessary but hope they don’t conflict with Snelles Key file for my X55??
Any ideas? (Win7 Pro and no issues on other BMS stuff such as Lightning Falcon MFD Extractor or The BMS built in one.)

Hmmm… no idea why Helios would shut down if you open a profile.
My images library is in
\Libraries\My Documents\Helios\Images
and I have two folders, mine and weepops’, in the \Images folder. Same thing for profiles. So I think you’re good here. Have you tried opening your saved profile? Can you confirm which version of Helios you are using? -
Using HeliosSetup-Stable-1.3.190 as from one of your posts
If you mean by"opening your saved profile" the new one I created, yes it opens but I haven’t actually put any images in it. I could use you youtube how to and do a couple just to see what happens. Will revert.Re keyfiles; are they essential? Would they conflict with others? I. E., I don’t want to actually load them as using Snelles X55 keyfile.
In the “Images” folder, confirm my actual folder wording is as post 43. Likewise the hpf file wording. I am assuming that is the case but mislabeled folders/files might be an issue.
Thanks for doing your best to help me in any case!

Yeah, your folders look alright. Same with the profiles. No renaming should be needed.
What OS are you using? Maybe Helios is having problems with Win10?
As for the key files, yes, they tell Helios what key combinations to send to BMS. You can use Snelles’ profile but if his “gear up” is ALT+G (for example) but my “gear up” is CTRL+G (for example), then you’ll be throwing the gear lever and be wondering why nothing’s happening. Suffice to say we make no guarantees once you deviate from the stuff we’re using.
-
Using win7 Pro 64bit.
Re keyfile I suppose I could use “Examine difference” and see whats what., but what you seem to be saying is that I would have to have your callbacks in any case, so might have to combine the 2 somehow or does Helios access yours with loading it on the BMS UI?OK so maybe problem. Trying to follow your tutorial and already problem in “add interface”. Falcon not showing up and “add” tab greyed out???
-
Hmmm… so OS is not an issue, or at least should not be. I’m on Win7 64bit myself.
re: keyfile… ignore my last statement. Helios should not care what the key combo is as long as there is a key combo mapped to that callback. So “gear up” could be ALT+G, CTRL+G, CTRL+ALT+G, SHIFT+G or whatever and Helios should be able to work with it. If “gear up” is not mapped to any key combo (sometimes, people just use the toggle callbacks and not the switch-state callbacks), then Helios cannot make it work. Again, ignore my last statement, I don’t know why I said that.
Still, we make no guarantees once you deviate from the stuff we’re using.
re: interface… you cannot “add” Falcon to my profile because it is already added. You should be able to add it to a new profile though… what exactly do you mean by “grayed out”? Care to post a pic?
ps. might want to start a new thread instead of us hijacking weepop’s thread

No need to start new thread, I am following your posts with interest and will chip in if I think of anything that Ice has not covered.
I have finally finished amending my profile. I have added a working spider switch to open canopy and it is synchronised with in game lever
The main changes however are to the chart display screens. I have added Avionics and Weapons checklists and generally changed layouts.
I have been surprised at the lack of any comment about my extra buttons on airport charts so I have added a demonstration of how to use them.
You will have to be using my keyfile for the demo to work, but if you are impressed, which I think you will be, the buttons can be added to any profile using your own keyfile
with a few modifications of course. I will gladly assist anyone wishing to do this.
All download files are now updated, including G15 and CH files.

Thanks mate but moved it so others coming here aren’t bothered.
-
What is this “extra buttons” weepop? Can you maybe make a video? My pit is in pieces at the moment so I can’t really test anything to see for myself.
-
Ice
I would love to make a video but I have not got a clue where to start!!!or what to do!!!weepop
-
Short of screen-capture software, I just used the “video” recording feature of an old digital camera…
-
Hi Weepops,
thanks for the update. I have a question, does the buttons to change pages (for example weapon checklist) works ? For the moment when i click on page 3-4 or other, nothing happens. It is the same for other buttons.
Thanks !

waichou
see post 35 in https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?23169-Ice-s-Falcon-BMS-Helios-Profile-Updated!/page4
describing this problem. We did not sort out the reason at the time but I think I may know now what the problem is.When you press a button which should “turn a page” it does three things. It pushes another button called HIDE on PANEL xxxxx and it toggles hide on panel. The HIDE button sets hide on panel. This might sound a bit like Chinese but what I have discovered is that the order that these things occur is critical. Just to make things worse it looks like some PC setups want one order but others need a different order.
Don’t you just love MICROSOFT…!!!I have changed the order of the AVIONICS pages 1 to 12 and renamed the profile Ice-Weepop.hpf instead of Weepop-Ice. and uploaded it.
Can you download and see if your avionics pages “turn” correctly. If they do I will amend the other panels.

Hi Weepop,
no, I tried with the new version but there is still nothing when i try to click on the buttons to change pages… Too bad, it was a very cool idea !!!
-
waichou, have you tried my profile? IIRC, weepop had problems with page displays on my profile and he “fixed” it for his system…
-
Hi Ice,
I tried your profile before but I had a problem with the monitor reset, I can’t fit your cockpit to my screen resolution 1920x1080 (the cockpit was too small), maybe you have a solution ? With Weepop profile I didn’t have the problem.
Thanks
-
That’s what “monitor reset” is all about. Just make sure you “reset” so that the Helios screen is where your touchscreen is and then nevermind the rest. My profile has 2 screens, one big one (my Eyefinity resolution) and one small one… just put the big one into whatever monitor you have and Helios should do the rest.

Discovered today
Crashing and profiles:if i try to open your profilefile directly the Editor crashes
If i start helios editor first and load the profile everything perfectI copied the complete panelcharts section to my own profile
Weapon , checklist and freq pages working perfect
Airbase charts 30 %
-
Interesting. So you say that you start HeliosProfileEditor first then load the profile… where? Into the appropriate User/Docs/Helios/Profiles folder, or what?
-
Yes i start HeliosProfileEditor first and then load the file from where it is saved. (could be downloads or the User/Docs/Helios/Profiles folder)
But check that the images in the User/Docs/Helios/Images/Weepop-Ice folder and not in User/Docs/Helios/Images**/Weepop-Ice/Weepop-Ice**
