@Ribbs said in Helios over a network:
My system includes two PC’s connected over a network - one PC runs BMS and the other controls three displays (2 MFD’s and a center pedestal with flight instruments). I already have RTT client running and displaying the MFD’s successfully on the slave PC. I now want Helios to run, also on the slave computer, and display the flight instruments on my pedestal monitor, but I haven’t figured out how to get Helios to ‘see’ BMS across the network on the master PC. Maybe Helios isn’t capable of that but then I’m wondering why there’s a networked check box along with the ability to enter an IP address and port.
It’s possible and I’ve had it working on my last setup. I stopped using it because the slave PC had a touchscreen monitor for tapping buttons but I had to double-tap them to work and it frustrated me. I never circled back to troubleshoot or fix that issue, figured it was a “me” problem and not related to Helios - I just got busy with other things, but had confidence that I’d eventually work it out.
I never experienced lag, but then all our systems (and slave systems) are not equal, perhaps my laptop (the slave) was good or my network setup was good - either way, I’d keep trying until you get it to work whatever it takes.
Best wishes and good luck!
