@mani How are you doing on this skin? I’d love it!

@BVT_9
Loooong time Falconeer, been into F-16 simulation since Falcon 3.0. Joined the Belgian Virtual Tigers in 2003 till 2007. Participated in the Low Land Tiger Meet 2007 in Ahaus, Germany - BVTs ended 2nd there. RL got me to retire, but the spark came right back in 2020 when the "new" BVTs contacted me! So, back to Probation Pilot level with the BVTs now and enjoying how complex and challenging BMS has become over the years. Rig in signature.

RE: Santa's wishlist for BMS
I would wish for better taxiway lines. They are too angular, whilst the rest of airbase markings are so nice and realistic these days.

RE: Upgrade to FCC3 for Cougar
I found it a lot more difficult to AAR, at first. That is, until I configured the FCC to be very sensitive. That allowed me to do minute corrections with very little force needed. In the end, I think that it still comes down to practice-practice-practice be it with pots or FCC in your stick.
I’d always advize to install an FCC, just because it’s extremely durable compared to pots. To date, I still have an Arend “White Eagle” van Oosten FCC-2 of 2007, and it still works great.
Lastly, I’d also advize to configure the throttle to be mechanically quite “stiff”, that helps keeping your speed under the tanker constant - which helped me A LOT with AAR. -
RE: Reduce internal engine sound
@oldtommyboy It did for me
I have ecsloop.ogg, ecsstart.ogg and ecsend.ogg now set to:max_vol: -9000
min_vol: -10000 -
RE: change weapons
Save the training mission under another name, use mission editor to change the time to well before take-off. Then, you can change loadout. After that, if you so wish, save the mission time again.

RE: Upgrade to FCC3 for Cougar
I’m not sure if this would help, but the Cougar DOES retain its calibration in its internal memory. BUT, and that’s what is funky about the legacy Cougar Configuration/Control app is that at PC startup it does not show your saved curves and calibration.
All you need to do is hit the “apply” button to retrieve the currently stored curves/calibration into the app and you’ll see everything is set as before. -
RE: BMSNav - Kneeboards and Briefings for iOS and Android
Hi,
I’m still having issues trying to connect, sys “NOT TIMED OUT”.
I’ve input the correct internal IP of the BMS running desktop, and the 2676 port is forwarded.
Still doesn’t connect to the server. Any ideas?
Thx! -
RE: What is the best way to set the after burner
@Mikyjax I upped the volume of the click to max in the soundproto file, to me it is VERY clear
See this thread on how I reduced the ECS sound volume: https://forum.falcon-bms.com/topic/22823/reduce-internal-engine-sound
Obviously this also works to increase individual sounds like the AB-click -
RE: What is the best way to set the after burner
@Mikyjax There is an option to enable an audible click when passing from MIL to min AB as a que.

RE: Upgrade to FCC3 for Cougar
@jcook
I can confirm @Tomcattwo findings.
I do not have an FCC3, but a (very old) “Arend” FCC-2.
The Cougar stick did not fit perfectly on it, I had a bit of handle play.
As my old FFC-2 did not come with a spacer ring, so I cut a small piece of memory foam to fit between the side stick and the FCC. no more play whatsoever and I was back in the AAR game

RE: Move Panels in Ice's Profile
@gbracer08 just select the ECM panel (with the padlock open) - select Edit and copy paste (or cut & paste) where ever you’d want it. Good luck!

RE: Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.37
@linknet said in Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.37:
@BVT_9 Try EZBoards - it replaces the 7982.dds file so that you can view the briefing on the cockpit kneeboards.
I could possibly look into having the profile do that, it already generates the briefing kneeboards so would just need to convert to dds.
@linknet both EZBoards and the now 4.37 profile show the briefings perfectly in the 3D pit, but for me, not in the profile. Maybe because I changed the “Falcon BMS Images” folder name to “Falcon BMS”?
