-
Need some help here.
Both pots of My cougar TQS(CTS 270XM8508 and CTS 270S1800) were died.I couldn’t found them on the local . They are too old to get any of them,i guess.
so,what is the best replacement, any suggestion?

Hi. I have the same problem with the antenna pot on my tqs. Is it possible to take the pot apart and repair it? Has enyone tryed that ? Maybe it only needs to be cleaned inside.

I did it. I replaced it (TM original part) and repaired the old one. I slightly scratched the wiper trace, cleaned it with alcohol and lifted the “springs” a little. Now it is giving good values in the multimeter. You lose nothing by trying

How do i measure the pot with a multimeter and what values does a working pot give? Thanks!

IIRC it’s a 10k pot measured between the two outer terminals. The middle terminal is the sweeper. Measuring between center tap and one end will give the variable resistance.
Using a multimeter, set it to Ohms and the 100k range

100k pots guys

But watch out, the values has to be linear and continuous. In a bad pot it is giving jumps and in some spots no resistance is shown.

I wonder if this pot may work as a replacement antenna pot?
