I bought this same Hall Sensor back in 2017. I used it recently (this month Feb 2025). I also bought the servo arm but didn’t use it. Instead I drilled a hole in the original Pot mounting bracket, ground some room in the bracket with a deremel for the Hall Sensor Mounting nut to fit tightly in the bracket. Inserted Hall Sensor Barrel through the hole, screwed into the nut captured by the bracket. Tightened securely. Then enlarged the D-hole in the Plastic Throttle axis with a drill bit barely large enough for the round Hall Sensor shaft, measuring everything with a Caliper to ensure the Center of the Axis was maintained and the size of the hole was difficult to insert the shaft of the sensor, but not too small as to break…it works flawlessly. Looking back on this article, I realize why the range of motion shown in the TM HOTAS Joystick Analyzer (or viewer) is a third of the range on the scale; because I didn’t bypass the resistor!! However, it still will calibrate when starting from 1/2 travel on the throttle and going through Manual Calibration.

Welcome to BMS! Many key files are available, check your bms documentation folder, you should find a directory named “Key files and input” or similar. I’d advise against using TARGET, use DX-only programming and you’ll be the happier for it in the later stages of your BMS career All the best, Uwe

@airtex2019 DeviceSorting text file content: {0400044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar” {B351044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “F16 MFD 1” {B352044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “F16 MFD 2” {076406A3-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “Mad Catz Pro Flight Combat Rudder Pedals” {FFFF06A3-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “Vipergear ICP” I have attached pic of Registry entries and highlighted the ones that I identified as my TM Hotas “044F……0400", my TM MFD’s, "044F……B351 and 352 respectively”, and then of course my Rudders at “0764…” and the ICP at FFFF The rest of the devices on this list in the registry I cannot account for and they seem superfluous…I’m so tempted to delete them but I don’t dare until I know positively what they are (or aren’t anymore). [image: 1740186872249-2ebe9af0-fc46-423e-9e6a-ec17e5b00782-image.png] Conclusion…imma leave this stuff alone and move along. Nothing to see here folks…turns out some of them are children of HID devices…so I am good. Any thoughts are certainly welcome, but all in all, I’m gonna turn and walk away from this. I used HOTAScleanse and it worked. I rebooted and things ran as normal.

Hello everyone, the axis of the Range broke, the same one that the Uncage wears. The question is: is there a spare part? any potentiometer with similar button?

@coyotte Thank you everybody, I have modified the curve of the throttle and I can now hear one thousand, two thousand and so on, but keeping the conection with the tanker is harder than before.

@ericveefalconsim I am using track IR, I align the crosshairs, then freeze track IR - pressing mouse button 4 (for me) then press cursor enable to set the HCMS alignment.

Note, it seem it’s not Linux exclusive issue. I haven’t tried it with AL included in update4 but for some reason AL hated virtual buttons on on-off-on switches (or hats). If possible use software included with your stick, disable those extra buttons buttons and use button release event.

@Puckertoe All I did was do the washer and axel pad things and it worked great. https://cougar.flyfoxy.com/mods.php#smooth I did not do the rest on that list. I also put friction tape on the barrel not electrical tape. The friction tape makes smoother movement when making small corrections.

Ran BMS 3.73 today, rudder pedals working perfectly. The crimped wires are not a factor. I have heard the expression, “If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it”, Yes, I was using the sim when he chewed the cable under my desktop. I was so focused on the game I didn’t notice what was happening until I lost rudder control. Initially thought it was a BMS 3.73 bug as I am no longer using the Cougar CCP with the new Launcher. Interesting, the cat does not like an AC electrical cord. I was worried about that as well, thanks!
