Pit is built on a DOF6 motion platform. Used for VR only. The GA pit is easily swapped out and made into an F-16 pit. It can use 4 GoFlight modules that provide 6 rotary switches, 16 pushbutton and 8 switches. The device in the middle is an X-Keys Pro that has pics of the ICP buttons and is programmable. I have it situated so that I can use AR to manage the ICP and MFD’s.

RE: Anybody know what campaign this post is referencing?
Looks like it worked really well. First flight and let HARM’s loose about 45nm out and it worked. Now I’m just super excited.

BMS 4.37.3 telemetry data for motion platforms.
Greetings,
I was wondering if Falcon BMS 4.37 has a way to provide more telemetry data.
I currently have a DOF Reality H6 motion platform that I use with VR. The platform comes with a license for Sim Racing Studio. Using the telemetry capture I can see pitch, roll, Vertical G Heave, speed, RPM and some landing gear values.
Is there any way to get more data? I’m looking for “Long G Surge Accel/Decel” that provides the acceleration/deceleration feeling.
I’ve confirmed that that value works with the DCS F-16. I was wondering if it’s possible to get more telemetry.
Thanks for any input.

RE: Apple VR
I really don’t think the Apple VP is going to go very far. Maybe next year we can get it on sale for $299 or something.

Still a campaign n00b after 20 years.
Greetings,
This past September marked my 20th anniversary playing Falcon 4. I did the SP1/2/3 dance, RP5, Falcon AF, OpenFalcon, Free Falcon, was a beta testing for another commercial build that failed (The file is in a dir labeled “ORI”. Can’t remember the name tho.) and eventually settled down with BMS. But in all that time I’ve shied away from the campaign and wringing my hands about jumping in and playing. It was always so daunting to me. The sad fact is that I’m not very good at strategy.
I’d really like to start doing the campaign now. I’m semi-retired, have a good rig, a motion platform, VR and dying to get deeply involved.
There is quite a bit of info out there. I’ve found @DBond 's campaign AAR on SimHQ and @tbuc 's priority video. So just a few questions;
-
Which theater/campaign would be best to start with for someone with limited experience like me?

There’s so much information out there that I’m concerned that I’m going to get bogged down with out-of-date information. So, if anybody has references that might be helpful, I’d certainly appreciate it.
Wish me luck.
Thanks

@Atze-0
Thanks much for your input. Your DS AAR is great reading. My first short term goal ATM is to get some better training using the HARM tactics. So I’ve started a Tiger Spirit and when ready I’m going to do some SEAD/DEAD type missions to get familiar with those tactics.I guess it’s like any other elephant. You can only eat it one bite at a time.
Thanks again.

RE: After 25 years, this sim still impresses
My first exposure with Falcon was on my Atari ST around 1988. I’ve been a fan ever since. Falcon and I have a long history together and I feel very fortunate that my loyalty has paid off.
Like others I too have DCS. I use it now and then to give my motion platform a workout. It has 6DOF and DCS has some really good telemetry allowing for the feeling of acceleration, deceleration, banking, etc… It’s a crying shame that BMS only has pitch and roll. Since it’s all VR for me now, that’ll have to do. But it’s not so bad with just 2DOF.

Looking for Campaign guidance for TS.
Greetings,
I’m trying my first campaign to learn get a feel for how Falcon BMS works. I’m at a point where I’m not sure what direction my strategy should go.
I’ve used the strategy outlined in the first post by Dirxxxed.
So the first day I’ve tried to do as many BARCAPS and DEAD’s to take out air defenses. So as I move on I’m seeing less and less frag orders coming up for the 14th FS. I tried changing the Priority types and target types, but when I advance the clock the frag orders empties and nothing comes up.
At this point I don’t know how to create my own frags. I’m a bit confused since my PAK’s are pretty much where the action/FLOT is and there are no strike frags or OCA frags. So I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong here.
I’d appreciate if anybody can provide some insight as far as why my particular strategy isn’t working and what you think would help to move the campaign forward.
Thanks for any assistance.

AR/XR and Falcon BMS is actually a usable feature.
I gave Reality Mixer on Steam a try and find that it works pretty well. Although the app only works with SteamVR ATM, there’s no reason not to take advantage of it in it’s current state. The opacity to overlay with current physical pits and the ability to toggle makes this a decent solution. (Short term anyway)
I don’t have a place to post a pic of my pit, so I’ll update the vid at a later date. The ICP looking thingy in the middle is an X-Keys Pro HID device programmed for key stroke input. Plus 4 GoFlight modules that allow for key input.

RTT and VR
Does anyone know if the RTT MFD extraction works with VR? I’m going to be testing some AR with the Q3 and would like to know this before I head down this rabbit hole.
Thx

Set up a campaign server. Can it be done?
Greetings,
There was a time when Falcon BMS provided a “-time” switch that put the sim into a windowed mode and you were unable to join the server on that host. However, you could start a campaign and just leave it running and people could join from external sources.
I have a decent rig that could be used as a campaign server at my home. I have no intention and setting it up for external use, but I’d love to set up a campaign and just have it running real time and join when I want.
Is it possible to set up a scenario like this?

RE: SA-15 destruction regardless of alt.
I did another fly-by of the SA-15 at FL230 and I was still slightly below FL200 AGL. So that was the problem. When I go to TAXI mode in the campaign the RALT is off by default. So that was my fault for not paying attention.
Regardless, thanks for the input and helping me get this sorted.

RE: SA-15 destruction regardless of alt.
@tiag Ah, good point. Didn’t think of that. I’m reviewing my TacView data but can’t seem to find RALT. I’ll try again and keep that in mind. Thanks for pointing that out.

SA-15 destruction regardless of alt.
Greetings,
I’m on my first campaign of Tiger Spirit. I’m on a DEAD mission to take out some ground targets. On the way there I get ambushed by an SA-15. According to the threat docs I should be ok above FL200. (Typical Engagement:6.5 nm / 20,000 ft) However, regardless of my ALT I’m still engaged and destroyed. I’ve tried up to FL250. I’ve reviewed YT tut’s and watch how above FL200 doesn’t cause engagement. My chaff/flares and evasive maneuvers don’t help at all.I just don’t get it. I could just say FI and move onto another mission, but now it’s personal.
I must be missing something. I’d appreciate any feedback that other pilots might have.

It’s a matter of a few minutes to code in share Mem’all speeds and accels on 3 axis
I don’t mean to sound rude, but do you mean for the DEV’s to do that or for customers to do that? I’m looking at Sim Racing Studio (which I use for the motion platform) and see the 3 axis Pitch, Roll and Vert G Heave. I have no idea what Vert G Heave is being used for. Is that what you mean for the 3 axis?
