Weepops Helios profile

I don’t believe you can get any noises out of the profiles, (correct me if I’m wrong Ice). What I did keep hearing was the window system sounds when I would press any of the switches. I suppose you can assign a click in the Windows system noises but then you would only have one sound for every switch.
-
Ajax, sound was working for my profile in 4.32…. MAYBE in 4.33 as well. I’ll have to check that.
Basically, all sounds were off different sound files and 4.33 standardized the format somewhat so I had to re-do my .key file for it.
EDIT: Yeah, checking my latest .key file, I have standardized my 4.33 .key file to conform to the new numbers.

Ice & Weepop,
Weepop, I haven’t tweaked anything else yet, just let me know if you would like me to send you the updated “weepop BMS4.key” file.
Cheers!
Yes Please AJAX then I might know what you are talking about!!!
-
It’s the 3-digit (or 4-digit on some old ones) numbers after the callback that tells the sim which sound file to play once the switch/button is manipulated.
AFGearToggle 119 0 0XFFFFFFFF 0 0 0 1 “GEAR: LG Handle - Toggle”
Check out p.38-39 of the BMS Key File Manual.pdf.
-
Yes Ice, thanks for checking.
Your latest .key file is what I copied the sound file numbers from.
It works great now!
Thanks for all your work!
-
Ok, weepop. I updated all the sound numbers in it to those used by Ice’s last .key file.
Sound feedback for each switch and knob is great now!
Let me know how to send it to you… I’m a noob to the forum, but an IT professional for 30+ years.

Ajax sent PM
Ice thank you for that info, all news to me.
-
Sorry Ajax!
Talking out of turn here :uham:
You meant in flight sounds! That’s why I refer back to the Helios Masters Ice and Weepop -
-
Glad to have helped!
eclipsejpw, while that is indeed how the panels are laid out in the aircraft, I’m sure you know that the forward half was meant to work with the pilot just looking down and the rear half was meant to work with the pilot turning his head. That’s why I aligned mine to be all upright. But now worries, if you like to work that way… :headb:

Sorry Ajax!
Talking out of turn here :uham:
You meant in flight sounds! That’s why I refer back to the Helios Masters Ice and WeepopNice to be called Helios Master Pikachu , but that title belongs to Ice only . I’m just one of his pupils ,a senior pupil possibly seeing as I am approaching 75.
Thanks anyway

Hi eclipsejpw
I notice you are not showing the canopy open/close spider switch in the bottom left of your front console.
It is included in my latest Weepop-Ice.hpf file on Mediafire!!
-
Moved it to the lt console
-
Yeah, the spider is now on the left console.
Thanks for the title of “Helios Master,” but even I don’t think I am one. I’m just a guy that’s fiddled with it more than most other people here and I’m just “paying it forward” by helping where I can. Do you know why I made those Helios tutorial videos? So that I don’t forget stuff!!

Hi Ajax
Thanks for updated weepop-BMS4.key file with sounds, I will change the one on my Mediafire page if anyone else wants to download it.
I would recommend turning up the cockpit sounds in the UI controller page from the suggested norm of three to eight so you can really here them.
I have also improved the MFD buttons to give a visual indication of operating as well as the sound indication, I think you will like it. Again I am uploading a new Weepop-Ice.hpf file to include this.
Whilst experimenting I noticed an error in my key file, there is a duplication of SHF/ALT F7 (0x41 5) for flcs test pwr and Master fuel on.
The Master fuel should be SHF/CTL F7 (0x41 3) You can correct yours Ajax and anyone downloading new key file with sounds will get corrected version.weepop

I’m surprised you were working without sounds…. IMHO it’s one of the most important feedback you can get. You may “miss” the “pressed” image of a button but hearing a confirmatory “click” means you have indeed pressed it.
-
Ice
I can’t believe it either. I agree it makes a great improvement. thank you Ajax for bringing it to my attention.
Ajax
are you actually using my .key file as it is, if so do you also have a CH hotas and a G15 keyboard.
If you have I can share more info on the keyboard and hotas settings.
weepop -
No prob. Love the profile.
I have a CH hotas and G15 too.
thx, but I have them config’d the way I like.
I did notice I am not able to get the various Avionics checklists pages to display as well as the Weapons checklists pages.
I did a lot of reading thru the older threads and I do not see where this issue was resolved after post #35 https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showth…Updated!/page4. I even downloaded and tried your latest Weepop-Ice.hpf
Did you ever get the pages to display? (I want to enjoy all the work you put into this!)
Cheers!

Hi Ajax,
My charts work perfect but I did Have this problem when I tried to use Ices profile.
Can we try an experiment to see if we can get one displaying correctly and if it works you can repeat for others. Use a backup profile so if you fubar it no problems.
Open in profile editor.
In profile explorer expand:- Panel FRONT CONSOLE/Panel CHARTS/Chart CHECKLISTS Avionics/Panel Checklist 3 and double click. On mainscreen it will open, adjust size so you can see bindings below it.
On input tab you should have one toggle hidden and one set hidden.
Expand left column:- Monitors/Monitor 1/Panel FRONT CONSOLE/Panel CHARTS/Chart CHECKLISTS Avionics/Button 2/pushed
click this and carry to toggle hidden and release. You now have added an extra toggle to the P3&P4 button in the profile.
Save and exit. Open profile and test to see if page three in avionics now displays.
You will not get page four untill you do the same for it.
If successful repeat for all pages not displaying using button 3 for pages 5&6 Button 4 For 7&8 etc.GOOD LUCK weepop
PS waichou you might like to try this if you are still having same problem!
-
Ajax, do you have the same problem with my profile or just weepop’s?
