BMS 4.33 WILL NOT LAUNCH
-
Go into the user/config folder and delete the “display” file.
-
All,
I have tried both of those fixes as well, I turned the video off - and I deleted the user config display file. Neither have worked. Here are some pics of how it goes down.Game goes to launcher fine
Game launchesselect any game mode
Then it crashes and the only way to get out of it is CTRL ALT DEL

In your User>Config folder do you have a crashlog?? It is a text file and is named by a date stamp, like this: 2016-04-28_214414_crash
That is the file you need to post. When posting it, enclose it in CODE tags as they can be quite lengthy.

Hey, Thanks for the reply.
I searched for a crash txt file in the user config as well as the user log folders - none. So i searched the entire BMS folder for “crash” and nothing… For some reason there isnt a crash file being generated. -
r u on a laptop?
r u on a pc that has onboard vga?set from power settings high performance.
try the -windows switch command in the bms exe shortcut.

I see you are running on a laptop. Presume from how you describe your system that it is a so called game capable laptop that runs 3D games with resources to spare. If it has 2 vid GPU available as such can have, did you select the power one in BMS setup?
You do not need to run the installed original falcon4 but would be interested to know if that less demanding version works.
-
ok a few things
is your callsign under 12 chars long ?
my bet is on https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?25552-Known-issue-CTD-when-accessing-Setup-BuildVideoDriverList()
as your laptop is prob running a lower refresh rate than 60 hz -
Strange I have 4.331, I have installed it on to my notebook which runs win10 64 bit with no eye candy I get about 30fps. this is not a games ready notebook. I was quite surprised, the reason I installed a second copy was to mainly use it for generating TE and playing around with fragging and practising troop movements. Do you have a desktop PC that you could try and install from? Sometimes I think registry can get screwed up mine did had to reinstall to program files then it worked fine ever since.

Cobalt, yes it is a laptop, no it’s not the most cutting edge high speed machine known to man, but I’ve been playing DCS now with no problems whatsoever. And yes I can play the Falcon 4.0 original game it runs fine. I have my nVidia selected for BMS to run off.
Ninja, thanks for the suggestion l, I’ll give it a try as soon as I get home, I’m currently redeploying.
Sub101, I do not have a useable desktop right now (I have a MacMini) -
Doesn’t get much more demanding than DCS so that’s good. Interesting falcon 4 runs fine. All in all i t must be something ‘simple’ and you will surely get there in the end.
-
Hey, update, I have it running as administrator and under compatibility mode for windows 8 and it runs only in 32 bit mode.
I am back home from deployment so I have a sec to plug in my system specs, here they are: ASUS RoG; Intel i7-4710 HQ CPU 2.50 GHz; NVIDIA GTX 860m; 16 GB RAM; 64 bit op system.
So, it is awesome that I can play the game now and get antiquated with the controls and all.
BUT doesn’t it have an effect on gameplay to have it running under the wrong bit?
How can I remedy this??

If you mean 32 or 64 bit, click the launcher, in upper right corner choose 64 bit.
-
Set max performance in power settings and maybe try -window command in bms exe shortcut.
