-Ice's Falcon BMS Helios Profile Updated!
-
1 - you may have a different .key file in the sim, but then I can’t guarantee anything working properly. Helios still refers to the .key file to know what key commands to send to the sim. If you manipulate the gear lever, for example, and Helios sends the keys “ALT+G” to the sim, the sim will see that ALT+G keystroke and perform the relevant callback command. If ALT+G was mapped to “open canopy” for example, then you can see how things start getting messed up.
2 - I’ve never tried using the mouse to manipulate Helios while in the sim. In fact, I turn off the in-game mouse –- I’m not sure if that turns off the mouse for the secondary monitor as well. Unfortunately, my simming setup is not assembled at the moment so I can’t really test this. I do know that there CAN be two mouse cursors and that they can be de-sync’ed, and that’s why I always had the issue of having to turn off the in-game mouse.

Another question: how do I extract gauges to the second monitor, so they can run behind Helios?
. -
MFDE is what I use. You’ll find more info on the very first post on the blog.
-
Ice, I learned how to manage the Extractor, but I can´t bind the gauges to the sim, when in game. Do I have to do some special setting in Falcon Extractor and/or Falcon BMS(the sim) configuration?

Replied on your thread.

Chaps,
When I throw the “Parking Brake” up (on) the switch in Ice’s Helios profile moves to the “up” position and in game the parking brake is engaged BUT the “Parking Brake” switch in the BMS on screen cockpit does NOT move to the “UP” (on) position?
Any ideas?
Ironman.

So what was the problem and the solution?

Hi Guys,
sorry for writing into this thread …I’m trying to understand how to have the MFD display on the 2nd monitor with Helios.
The only thing I see inside the MFD id a very large HUD …I searched on the net to find a tutorial about the MFD but I didn’t find one.
I found only how to have switches and knob working, but no altimeter or MFD.Thanks in advance for your help.

MFDs are exported either via the built-in Cockpit Display Extractor or using MFDE.

Hey ice, i have downloaded your profiles , and honestly i cant get it to work. i have loaded your latest key file and started your profile (just changed the layout for my screen setup) im just trying to run this on a normal screen befor ill switch to my ipad.
so, basicly i can see that helios syncs up with my 3d world im some of the buttons, not all of them . and when i press something on helios it would not change in the 3d world and the other way around im sure im missing something because im very new to this. i hope you can help me out here to make it all work .

Hmmm… have you loaded the .key file both in BMS and in Helios? Also note that not all switches will sync, but that’s the beauty of switch state callbacks vs. regular toggle callbacks. Don’t worry about it. To be honest, I would recommend you try out Weepop’s Helios profile. It’s largely based on my profile but he’s made tons of improvements that I couldn’t do due to my own RL issues. Sorry I couldn’t be of much help. Good luck!

Hi Ice,
Any chance you could up date the ICP numbers 2,4,6,8,0 to include N,W,E,S,- respectively just to match the new functionality in BMS4.33U2 ?
If you could just reissue the buttons and their location in the file that would be even better ;0)

Not fired up BMS 4.33.2 yet, my sim setup is almost complete but not there yet
-
come on come on - don’t you know there’s a war on ;0)
get back to me when able - cheers.

Hi Ironman
I got your PM asking how to lift ICP buttons from my profile and place them in Ices profile.
Its easy and I will gladly tell you how if you can tell me why you prefer to stick with Ices profile when my profile is just a version of Ices but with many improvements.
If the reason is you do not want to use my keyfile then I will gladly attempt to modify my profile to suit the keyfile that you prefer
PM me a copy of your keyfile and I will take a look at it, is it The one from Ices download?

Nothin personal - It has taken me many weeks to “spread” ICEs profile over 5 touch screens … happy to meet on Skype to discuss - send me a PM with Skype details, its good to talk ;0)
The origins of the key file I use are lost in the mists of time but happy to send it to you …
Ironman.

OK Ironman I see your point, so here are instructions on how to copy buttons from my profile to yours:-
Open both profiles together select the ICP panel in each. Shrink so you can see both at same time on screen.
On layers tab unlock button on both profiles. Select in your profile and delete button. Select in my profile and edit/copy button.
Change back to your profile and edit/paste button.
Repeat for other three buttons then rearrange order on layers tab to put in a neat sequence.
Save your profile……DONE
