FCR cursors not moving
-
Well, this is slightly embarrassing. I am returning to F4 after a long hiatus and after half a day of trying, I can’t move the cursor on the FCR!
I originally suspected a key biding issue, but tried to bind the cursors to various keys instead of the default (Shift + Arrows) and didn’t get any luck, the cursor wouldn’t budge. I did check the FCR is SOI and I am not on the ground.
In the ‘Controllers->Advanced’ tab, Cursors are both set to ‘keyboard’.
I am sure I missed something obvious, any idea? Thanks!
PS: I am using a CH Fighterstick, but am just trying to move the cursors with the keyboard to start with.

look at the keyboard layout, I’m pretty sure its the up,down left and right arrows. possibly with the shift modifier. Check you have loaded the correct keyfile.

Just a reminder the FCR cursors can’t move on the ground in case you perform the checks on ground…in the other case, check the post above
EDIT: Disregard just noticed your post “not on the ground”… Sorry

Quick thought… What mastermode are you in? If you’re starting a training flight in A-G snowplow you’ll need to TMS up to get the cursor to move… Other than that, the default Shift arrows should work. Good luck… Hope you find a solution

Thanks all. That was it, I needed to TMS up before being able to move the cursors. Though to be honest I don’t completely understand why.

Fortunately the manual should explain why adequately. Alternatively, you should be able to work it out for yourself, if you have a think about how the radar display works, and how the ergonomics work… think ‘ground stabilise’ and ‘freeze’.

Awesome!! In snowplow the cursors are lock on the nose. You need to order them to move… Also don’t forget to CZ the cursor in steerpoint, as slewing the cursor will move the steerpoint x,y
