BmsDatUtils
-
I’ve created a simple(and incomplete) python library to read, write flight model data.
It was written in a couple of hours to modify an addon aircraft’s drag curve.
Features v0.1:
- Read, write BASIC AERODYNAMIC COEFFICIENTS section
- Add new mach breakpoints(cl, cd, cy values are inter/extrapolated for the newly created mach breakpoint)

It is a public project feel free to contribute

Well, thanks a lot for this utility, could end even useful.
But please don’t mind if I ask this: in base of which reliable data could we modify those assets?
My own personal doubt, I can admit fairly, but the same I’m going to leave this task to the devs., hhmmm…
With best regards.

As the FMM is closed except the one leaked version(as far as I know) it’s not an easy task to create a new FM(for e.g. a new aircraft), more or less you can copy-paste one and hope for the best.
I personally used it to modify a mod aircraft(found in a theater only) as it did only mach 1.2 instead of 2, instead of changing the whole curve(or rather mesh) with the table multiplier I tried to shape it to be realistic, not an easy task to do manually in notepad. The devs will not do that for me
I would consider modifying the f16 FM heresy(without proper knowledge) but as far as I know the sim is open for modding so if someone wants to make an ace combat theater they could.
